NUM TIME COMMENT
1 02:07 AVON VALLEY TOYOTA MAIDEN 1600m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Infinite Storm leading the way. POPPY'S ROSES (5) sets the standard after resuming with a sound third at Bunbury, beaten just under a length as a well-supported favourite. Her previous campaign included the G2 WATC Derby and a placing in the WA Oaks prior to that. Has class and can knock over her maiden this time around. FARADIO (1) is the clear danger on consistency, having placed at both runs at this venue this campaign and with proven 1600m form to call on. An inside draw this time around can see him sit closer this time around and he can make his presence felt. THANGOO (2) is harder to trust after failing as favourite over 2200m, but his Pinjarra Scarpside second on soft ground and a Lark Hill trial placing keep him in calculations. Expecting a better run this time with Pike booked. ADMIRE BELLE (8) finds the right race today and is worth including out in trip. FORGOT THE ROCK (9) gets a much different set up today and can run an improved race.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Poppy's Roses is the one to beat.
2 02:50 TABTOUCH TRY BET LOOP TODAY MAIDEN 1100m
Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. FIREARM (2) missed by a neck at this track when he began only fairly first-up this campaign, being hampered passing the 350m and still finished strongly. CJP replaces the apprentice hoop today and he's open to plenty of improvement. Looks poised to go one better. FAMED GIRL (9) has no race experience, but her latest Lark Hill trial was a close second and the Pike booking are good pushes for her chances. She should get every chance3 off the inside draw and she comes from solid bloodlines. Can make an immediate impact. CHANDRA (7) was solid on debut at this venue, closing strongly to run second at generous odds. Better for that experience and can fire a shot. GENERAL NAPOLEON (3) improved sharply second-up when runner-up Belmont Maiden, though he was unwanted in betting. Has to be respected in this suitable race. SOVEREIGN ROCK (1) can improve coming back to this trip and with the drop in weight.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Firearm can go one better second-up.
3 03:20 WESTWIDE TRACKING MAIDEN 1000m
Anticipating good pressure with many of these lining up for the first time. MY TESTIMONY (5) lands here as the one to beat on resumption following some solid efforts in defeat to end last campaign. Her latest trial suggests she's not gone backwards in the break and she's still open to plenty of improvement. Will need some luck from the draw, but she finds a winnable race and can return on a winning note. INCREDIBLE MR FOX (7) will find this easier than what he's been racing in, dropping back from the midweeks to this race. Pike's booking is a big push for his chances and with the visors going on, he can make a statement. FLASH OF FINA (9) has impressed in both trials this time in and the inside draw is a big push for his chances. Should get every chance with no weight on his back to fire on debut. MISS PROFLIGACY (11) is another debutant with a genuine chance after a close Belmont trial second. Has shown enough to suggest she has some ability. CACHACA (2) can improve coming in trip and with the fresh run out of the way.  SUGGESTED PLAY: My Testimony can notch up her maiden win.
4 03:50 NORTHAM LIQUOR BARONS MAIDEN 1300m
Slick pace with Squad Goal finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. PHOENIX FLAMING (5) comes off a solid performance from the back in a 3YO Open race, beaten 2L. That was Saturday company and he was steadied, so the effort reads well for a maiden of this standard. Ticks plenty of boxes and can land the knockout blow this time around. SPECIAL BLEND (12) is the key debutante, having won an easy Lark Hill trial by 2.49 lengths and she has William Pike aboard for a stable with a solid debut record. Looks to have some ability on what we saw from her latest trial and she can make an immediate impact. UNIMANDO (2) has already placed twice from four starts and was beaten only a neck first-up at Belmont. Can build on that effort and feature with a touch of luck. PHOTOSYNTHESIS (7) resumed with a head defeat at Bunbury in a strong return performance. Wouldn't surprise to see her right in the finish. ARNO RIVER (3) is better than he showed last time out and can be thereabouts.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Phoenix Flaming can score.
5 04:20 DEBORTOLI FAMILY WINEMAKERS HANDICAP 1400m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Playing Free. MOONSHINE QUEEN (7) missed narrowly last start at this track and trip, but turned in a strong rating in defeat. The inside draw should see her get every chance and although she hasn't won for a while, this looks well within her grasp. Can go one better now. VIENNA CALLING (5) is the main threat, easing back from Saturday company after covering ground throughout in a 1 Metro Win at Belmont. Her form recently stacks right up and with the favours of an inside barrier, she'll be hard to fend off. JAVELIN STRIKE (2) has William Pike going on and drops out of a NMW1Y. Back to this trip now and the booking of Pike is a positive sign. Can bounce back to his best. PRODUCIMUS (4) arrives off a Bunbury Maiden win and is honest enough, with the six-day back-up the main reservation. PLAYING FREE (3) can be in the finish.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Moonshine Queen can get the job done this time.
6 04:50 PROCON DEVELOPMENTS (AUST) NORTHAM CUP SUNDAY 25 OCTOBER HANDICAP 1600m
Pace looks sure to be genuine with Razmas and Acta Non Verba matching motors, closely followed by Modern Miss. RORY'S REVENGE (4) is the one to beat after breaking through at this venue as favourite, storming home from well back to score by a nose. Going straight into a CL3 is the obvious test, but his record at this track and distance, the William Pike booking and recent improvement make him the runner with the most upside. VANCOUVER STORM (10) has the strongest recent benchmark, having run second to Grandad's Adiction in a NMW1Y at Belmont after being slow to begin. That was a strong return to form and this looks to shape similarly with Faithfull still on board. He's a track and trip winner previously and can go one better this time. BOUSSAC (5) comes through the same Belmont Park race, beaten just under a length after jumping awkwardly. He's building nicely and can't be left out of calculations. ACTA NON VERBA (2) worked home well for third most recently is suited getting back to 1600m. Can go on with it. LA EXCELLENCE (6) won't be far away.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Rory's Revenge.
7 05:30 MORRIS PEST AND WEED CONTROL HANDICAP 1300m
Plenty of pace with Looks and Azabelle leading from Cheryl's Shout. YAMASHITA'S GOLD (4) is the runner to beat off a sound CL3 effort at Bunbury, where he was still well back before making steady ground to finish fifth. He had charged into third at the same venue the run before, handles wet tracks, and the quick back-up looks a positive rather than a concern. DON'T TRUST JUDAS (1) is the obvious danger after missing by a nose at this venue and his track-and-distance profile is strong. The wide gate is a niggle, but he's a versatile type and his recent form suggests a win is around the corner. LOOKS (9) has to rebound from a plain last-start eighth after being well found, but his second the run prior stacks right up for a race like this. Can improve with a touch of luck from the wide draw. FLYING SOUTH (2) ended last campaign in good order when charging from the back. No trial coming in is a query, though he's won twice fresh in the past. Can't discount. SHOW THE WAY (11) trialled well coming in and won't be far away.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Yamashita's Gold can get back to winning ways.
