NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:10 BILL & LURL PERRY MEMORIAL COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN PLATE 1400m
Folsomprisonhooves to take charge ahead of This Ain't Texas at a strong tempo.  THIS AIN'T TEXAS (11) was much better on a firmer surface at Moruya nearly 3 weeks ago when finishing fourth. She hails from the powerful Matt Dale stable, who usually come here with big winning chances. She dons the blinkers, and is the one to beat for us. THE ULTIMATE STAR (4) is backing up quickly from a strong finishing fifth at Wagga 6-days ago, and with a big swing in his draw this time, he can figure in the top 3. FOLSOMPRISONHOOVES (12) has been narrowly beaten in her last 2 starts, and will still be on the up with her fitness. She would only needs an ounce of luck from a wide gate, to be right in the finish again. SENSESATIONAL STAR (8) has been trying to win a race for some time, and was solid enough 6-days ago at Wagga when whacking away for fourth, just in front of the second pick in the same race. Include in all top 4 combos to be safe. FIGHTING FOX (5) will be peaking third up from a spell, and stepping out to 1400m for the first time should help her. Keep safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: This Ain't Texas each way.
2 01:46 HERITAGE MOTEL CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1600m
Passing Through has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. BLOOMIN' RICH (10) has made an encouraging start to his career with a pair of fourth place finishes, and he will be suited stretching out to a mile for the first time here. He is still a maiden so will carry 3kg less this time, but he still has the scope to win a race like this. HUSSY LA VISTA (5) has been racing well since her easy maiden win at the Sapphire Coast in late July. He last start fourth at Hawkesbury at provincial level is good form for this race, and she can take this out. AVALON LADY (4) stepped up to this trip for the first time at Canberra 8 days ago and posted an overdue maiden win by a length. She can make full use of the pole position, and is expected to go right on with the job now. PASSING THROUGH (6) has needed time to mature, and she resumed in top shape when leading all the way to break her maiden status at Gundagai 4 weeks ago. She may take plenty of pegging back again in this.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Bloomin' Rich each way.
3 02:20 TRISH & STUART ANDERSON MEMORIAL MAIDEN HANDICAP 1100m
Miss Hard Copy should spear straight to the front of the small field. BRAVE SUMMIT (2) barrelled home late when finishing fourth on debut at Corowa over 900m, and the extra 200m second up should be ideal. She has a good gate, and should go close to taking this out. MISS HARD COPY (1) ended her initial prep with a brave effort for second by a neck at Wagga in April, and she will be even stronger this season. She cruised home to win a recent trial, and won't be a maiden for much longer. NOT GUILTY (5) made a bright debut from the Michael Travers stable fresh up at Gundagai on a heavy track, before a poor run at Wagga last time out on a good surface. That run was too bad to be true, and he is worth another chance. LINDOS (9) resumes from a spell that would have done her the world of good, and from a handy gate, she is worth including in all combinations. COOL AS TED (4) is fresh from a spell, and not out of this at some value.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Brave Summit can take this out.
4 02:55 TWIN HILLS STUD CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200m
Expecting Western Lights to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. KENNY'S SWANS (1) is a very promising, and lightly tried 4YO gelding who resumed with a bold effort for second by a short-head at Wagga just over a fortnight ago. He slots into the pole position this time, and with the winkers on, he is nicely poised to go one better. THE GLEN (6) made solid progress last season, and will have matured over his spell. He resumes without a trial, but draws close in, and is not to be underestimated. Check the market moves. NAVAJO CODE (5) was perfectly ridden fresh up when getting in the final stride to score by a nose at Moruya, and he should continue to improve with more racing. Stick with him on an each-way basis. FORREST DANCER (3) resumes from a spell, and he is another to be included in all combos. DUNDEEL FLYER (13) resumes from a spell, and is capable of a sharp run, so keep her safe from a good gate.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Kenny's Swans to win.
5 03:30 VIRBAC BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1200m
Fast tempo assured with Jazz All Knight, Star Empire and Liamena Avenue going toe-to-toe. MELODEE ROSE (4) ran on too late fresh up at Leeton 12 days ago, and will get a significant jockey upgrade with Blaike McDougall taking over from an apprentice. She will have plenty of time to wind up down home straight here, and she is expected to be very competitive. REDS CITY (6) probably found it a bit sharp for her over 1050m at Leeton last start when caught wide and back after making a good beginning. She is worth another chance over 1200m, and will also have a senior hoop in the irons this time. If she can find the top without using up too much energy, then she could take plenty of catching, so stick with her. STAR EMPIRE (2) improved sharply second up to take them all the way at Canberra just over 6 weeks ago. Don't underestimate him in this. JAZZ ALL KNIGHT (1) is nicely placed here after a 2kg claim, and she can run her usual honest race. Each way value.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Melodee Rose each way value.
6 04:05 CENTRAL HOTEL BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP 1100m
Dawn On Me, Justbetryin' and Hellinda will not hold back as they vie for the lead from Nights Inferno and Marine Girl.  DAWN ON ME (3) had won 2 races on the bounce by leading all the way on soft ground, prior to finishing a weakening seventh on good ground at Canberra last time out when failing to find the top early on. She will find this company easier, and if she can find the front early on, then she may be too hard to peg back. ABSTRUSE (4) trekked into the race nicely last start at Moruya, and let rip with a sharp turn of foot to score going way by a length. She is likely to find a similar genuine tempo in this field, and with the right run from her good draw, she can repeat the dose. PAPARAZZO (5) went up to win his last start at Wodonga before peaking on his effort late, finishing second by a nose. He will be at his peak third up from a spell, and can go one better. JUSTBETRYIN' (9) worked early to find a spot outside the lead at Leeton last start, and was still to tough, scoring by more than 2 lengths. This is harder again, but from the pole position, he can measure up again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Justbetryin' each way.
7 04:40 RIVERINA FORD COOTAMUNDRA CUP 1600m
Without an obvious leader, it may be left to Adolphus, Brannum and Talkachino to control the tempo. STORMBRINGER (11) is edging his way towards an overdue win, and he hit the line strongly for second over 1400m at Nowra 2 weeks ago. He is having his first run over 1600m this prep, and can go one better. BELLEISTIC KIDS (1) peaked on his second up run at Hawkesbury 10 days ago, and should be spot on for this easier assignment. A 2kg claim will help offset his weight rise, an he looks to be perfectly placed to break his win drought in this. MATHRIN (7) is another veteran mare, and she is resuming from a spell without any public trials. Use the market as your best guide. SHADOW DANE (6) will find this easier than his last couple of runs, and dropping back to 1600m will also be in his favour. A good draw, and a 1.5kg claim, gives him a good chance to bounce back into the top 3. TALKACHINO (12) won the Grenfell Cup 8-days ago, and he can measure up in this as well.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Belleistic Kids each way.
8 05:15 AUSTRALIAN MEAT GROUP COUNTRY BOOSTED BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1400m
Daze Off, East Harlem and Dream Inherit can settle forward in a race lacking a designated leader. EAST HARLEM (17) may not win often, but at this level he is usually very competitive, including his last start at Bathurst when third. He is reunited with Molly Bourke, and another honest effort is expected. SUNDROP (10) is a consistent mare who broke her win drought at her penultimate start, and then was third against 5 others at Leeton 12 days ago. Brendan Ward sticks with her, and so do we. SEASMOKE (9) was not far away in Highway company at Rosehill 2 starts back of a wide gate, and then was a solid third at Wagga last start. She is having no luck with his barrier draws, but is still worth including in all to be safe. VINARI (6) had an excuse last start, and can make amends. DUNNA RUNNA (14) strips fitter second up, and he is capable of figuring in the top 4 at a price.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Seasmoke can win this.
