HECTOR BLACKS LOUNGE BAR 1200m
Strong tempo with Kyoshi Boy likely to hold the lead from the rails draw, joined by Imperial Queen. NEVER TOO MUCH (10) ran on strongly for 2nd in the LR Welcome Stakes before losing a plate & lame in the LR Champagne Stakes. Had every show when hand but lacked a kick fresh last month. Improver & the one to beat. KYOSHI BOY (11) led them up but was weak late in the LR Champagne Stakes last start in May. Likely to be prominent for a long way here. ARVANA (13) is a War Decree filly on debut after at trial win and 2nd last month. Sure to be ready from the Terri Rae stable. FAST NET (7) recently changed stables from the North Island & just battled away in first start down here last month. Possible improver. SUGGESTED PLAY: Never Too Much to win |

NIGHT'N'DAY DAIRY 1200m
Lots of speed predominantly from Misty Blue, Ripicola and Pure Champagne. IFYOUSTARTMEUP (1) was getting close to a win last prep when usually running on from well back in the field. Maiden win isn't far away. INTO THE CIRCLE (9) raced close to the speed & went close a few times last prep in North Island. Might find it easier down here for new stable. KIRCHMEYER (6) gave a sight with a big lead but faded late in 2nd start in March. Was handy & fought on OK when fresh at Riccarton last month. Improver. BATU (3) has been in or near the lead last couple but lacked a finish. Stable change from the North Island could prompt improvement. SHAFTED (2) has put in three handy runs on the Synthetic to start this prep & can give some cheek from the pole here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ifyoustartmeup Each Way |

PROPERTY BROKERS TIMARU 1200m
Lots of speed predominantly from Miss Thunderdonk, Gina Gillotti and Letschat. SWORD OF STARS (4) got well back from a wide draw & charged home but just missed in the LR Canterbury Belle Stakes when fresh last month. Take beating here. NICCITA (5) made good ground in the LR Canterbury Belle Stakes, just peaking on her run late 2 back then ran on again when odds-on but no match for Midnight Oak last time. Has upside. MISS THUNDERDONK (8) led them up but was swamped late on debut at Riverton in April. Nice quiet trial here recently. GINA GILLOTTI (7) another filly coming off a fair 8th from midfield in the LR Canterbury Belle. Led from this gate on debut. SUGGESTED PLAY: Quinella Sword Of Stars and Niccita |

CLEARVIEW PARK STUD 2200m
Off the low draw Imperial Thinker can take it up a race lacking a genuine leader. POPSICLES (10) had her first start for this stable when loomed turn from well back early & tried hard here September 23. Respect on a soft track. WHITE PALACE (11) yet to run a placing but getting closer. Up to this trip when making good ground from last on the Synthetic last time. Improver. DREAM ROMANCE (8) charged home from the rear for a head 2nd over 2000m back in February then spelled. Shuffled back and held up turn last time. Can add value here. CHATAYA (6) getting well back & running on well in recent starts. Solid 4th's at all four starts greater than 1800m. WANDERIN CHARM (7) didn't beat a runner home in first two starts, both on the Synthetic but was much improved from a handy spot here last time. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Quinella 6x8x10x11 |

PERFORMANCE EQUINE VETERINARY 1600m
Moderate tempo with Perfect Timing leading the way. PERCIVAL (1) talented type who resuming with a good late run of 2nd last month after doing similar last prep. Step up to 1600m ideal this time. STARVINOS (5) is a 6yo who has obviously had some issues. Made up a lot of ground on the synthetic in his debut but not so good last time in a tough race. Forgive. CHINO'S BOY (3) ran on well but was wayward when fresh August 26 then won a trial. Got too far back here last time. Worth another chance. ASK ARCHIE (2) put in an improved effort first-up when staying handy & boxing on OK on the synthetic last start. Improver. ZASHUBO (10) ran on from a mile back here last start when not beaten far. Don't dismiss. SUGGESTED PLAY: Percival to win |

COCHRANES OF CANTERBURY 1600m
Trader Inn to take up the running at a moderate tempo. TRADER INN (1) stayed handy to the pace & fought hard, just going down in last two start in similar races. Take beating from the handy gate. RITHIM (10) fair efforts of late in the North Island. Loomed nicely & tried hard when beaten 1.2L 5th 4 runs back. Easier here. QUINTAIN (7) slow away and still a mile back turn but made up many lengths here last time when fresh. Improver. CAMBALACHE (2) has ordinary form but her lone win came this track and trip back in June. Beaten less that 6L last couple. Consider. SUGGESTED PLAY: Trader Inn to win |

CAMBRIDGE STUD CELEBRATING 50 YEARS 1600m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Quisiera leading the way. LA VOISIN (4) led and got away nicely 2 starts back then dragged the pack up & fought hard last start at 1400m. Take beating from nice gate & back to a mile. ONE TRUE KING (3) was favourite when loomed up from midfield but lacked a killer punch here last start. Better for that 2nd-up run. NEW BEGINNING (5) came back in distance & charged home to score with ease here last start. Extra 2kg and wide draw only slight negatives. HEARTBREAKER (1) finished last prep with a smart win on the synthetic when he rounded them up from midfield. Two nice trails should have him ready for this. SPEED DIAL (2) charged home from the rear but just missed 2 back & ran on strongly again last time. Include from hand gate. SUGGESTED PLAY: La Voisin Each Way |

THE SEABREEZE MOTEL 1200m
Strong pace with The Charm, Grove Street and Flipper pushing across. THE BIG PICTURE (4) down from the North Island for his last two start when stayed handy but lacked a final burst. Fitter for those two and will take beating this time. DOSTEE (1) clung on to score first-up then over-raced & battled at Riccarton. Good effort from a mile back last time and his best is good enough here. THE CHARM (6) built nicely to his maiden win at Pukekohe back in April. Just beaten at the trials for this new stable in late August. Keep safe. OGUN (3) bowled along at the back before looming turn & put them away on the synthetic last time. Just needs to bring that form to the turf track. INTERLAKEN (2) is a lightly raced 5yo who ran on well when fresh in similar race here two back but faded from a much handier spot last time. Change on best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed quinella 1 x 4 x 6 |

WHITE ROBE LODGE CHEERS TO 70 YEARS 1200m
Good early pressure with Steezy or I Am Nutz likely to take up the running. MAROKOPA FALLS (5) kept coming gamely when fresh at Riccarton then got the shuffle, drove through but just missed last time. Take beating despite wide gate. MAD MAX (3) tried for an all the way win but was caught late when fresh then tried hard from midfield last time. Looks suited here. QUEEN'S EVIDENCE (7) has competed well in tougher fields than this and has a win and 3rd from two first-up runs. Solid trial & top jockey up. Respect. STEEZY (8) had a good lead but couldn't hold on as favourite when fresh last time. Solid 5th in LR Gore Guineas last prep. Respect. I AM NUTZ (2) spelled and sent south to this new stable after over-racing in January. Nice quiet trial last month. Can surprise. SUGGESTED PLAY: Quinella Marokopa Falls standout with 3,7,8 |

HEKEAO FEED CO HAPPY 100TH PHAR LAP 2200m
Genuine tempo with Unleash The Beast leading the way. BALANCE OF POWER (8) loomed up from beyond midfield & bolted away here last start at this trip. That capped solid form. Can go on with it. SMOOTH OPERATOR (3) put in a better effort here last time when ran on from the rear over 1600m. That's as good as he's ever gone 2nd-up. Ready now. ROSSO (1) had a decent spell before fighting on well form just off the pace over a mile last time. Beaten favourite in G3 Wellington and G2 Auckland Cups last season. Must respect. PERSONA (9) angled wide from midfield and came home resolutely to score at big odds last start at Riccarton. Handy staying mare with upside. PRINCE ALBY (5) hasn't been far away of late including a solid 6th in the G3 Winter Cup 3 starts back. Has claims here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Quinella 1 x 3 x 8 |

NZB - 100 YEARS OF SALES 1200m
Plenty of speed runners engaged, with Honor The Name, Charm Manhattan and I'munstoppable prominent. MISS ZIGGY (5) loomed up turn & fought hard for 2nd at Riccarton when fresh. Only beaten 2L in an LR back in April. Hard to beat here. CASHLA BAY (9) whacked away fairly when on the pace & fresh here last time. Placed 2 of 4 2nd-up and top jockey on. HONOR THE NAME (4) impressive form at this trip last 4 starts coming through the grades. Led and too strong last couple. Can't ignore. RECITAL (14) back from a spell an improved mare with upset wins from on the pace and midfield last two. Tougher here but hard to discount. SUGGESTED PLAY: Miss Ziggy to win |
