NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:54 Ladbrokes Tote Win + 10% Handicap 1200m
Plenty of pace from Only The Best, Bon's A Lad and Tellez primarily. BON'S A LAD (3) is the one to beat with second-up improvement to come after a fourth in BM58 grade at this venue, where an awkward beginning made the task harder before he worked home evenly. His record at this track and distance has him firmly in the mix. PUB CRAWL (7) has the freshening, a close Strathalbyn trial and proven 1200m form to improve sharply on his latest BM64 fifth. Include. EVEN SHARPER (2) resumes with strong consistency from last preparation, including a close third here, and his four placings from four track-and-distance attempts read well despite the lack of a win. LEAN ON ME (5) has been holding form, was third in BM64 grade two starts ago and owns a strong record at this track and trip. Can feature.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Bon's A Lad on top.
2 01:31 Book Now Red Centre Racing Awards 10th Oct 3 & 4yo Handicap 1100m
Solid tempo expected primarily from You'resogolden and Yule Point. MILLIONAIRE LOVER (7) is the one to beat after placing at all four starts, with his latest third coming in a BM58 at this track when favourite. His Wodonga third prior also had merit and he has claims. YULE POINT (1) resumes off strong Darwin form, having won a 3yo BM66 before a narrow second in a 3yo BM68, and his 1100m record is a major asset. OCTOBER STAR (2) returns from a six-week freshening and looks well placed back from BM66 and CG BM64 company, with his Goulburn run better than seventh reads after making ground late. Worth consideration here. YOU'RESOGOLDEN (6) resumes after a plain Balaklava ninth, but she has won at the trip and her best form gives her an each-way chance.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Millionaire Lover can win.
3 02:07 Happy Birthday George Cooke Handicap 1100m
Golden Tunes to take charge ahead of Verbosity at a strong tempo. GOLDEN TUNES (5) has made a strong case with successive wins at this venue, latest taking out a BM64 by six lengths after being sent out as odds-on favourite. His record at this track is faultless from three attempts and the latest win reads well enough to make him the horse to beat. LIMITED RISK (6) returns from a two-month freshen after winning a BM64 over 1400m at this track and has trialled with a close third at Strathalbyn, so there is enough to suggest he can run well again back to 1100m. HELLIVIT (10) resumed with a three-length BM58 win and has a strong track-and-distance record, helped by a weight drop from that latest victory. Include. DYER (4) won narrowly by a neck last time out at this track but is up in weight. Expected to go close.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Golden Tunes can add to the picket fence.
4 02:41 Young Guns in the Marquee 31st Oct Handicap 1600m
Good pace headed by Denuto, Okesutora and Cours Vite, with Valley Prince and Mr Jones close by. MR JONES (1) is the clear horse to beat after finishing second in a BM76 here, beaten a length after beginning slowly. He now finds easier, has a strong track-and-trip profile and the apprentice claim plus blinkers give him several positives despite the two-month break. SHEER REWARD (7) has only been fair in two 3yo+ BM48+ runs at Kununurra, but he returns to a more suitable 1600m setup and his previous win at this track and distance keeps him right in the race. OKESUTORA (3) has to turn around a plain Kununurra sixth, yet the nose defeat two starts back showed he is close enough when able to produce his best. Each-way. VALLEY PRINCE (6) was a solid BM64 third here after a poor run, and his broad 1600m record says he can be competitive.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Mr Jones can be a big star.
5 03:15 Derby Day 31st Oct Handicap 1600m
Small field in which Mummsie can find the front comfortably at a moderate tempo. MUMMSIE (4) is the one to beat after putting together two decisive wins here, most recently scoring by just over five lengths in BM54 grade as a well-supported favourite. The 1600m record is the only question, with four placings and no wins at around the trip, but her current form and light weight keep her clearly on top. MATRON SAMSING (3) has the right form to challenge, having won at Kununurra before missing by a nose in Open company at this track, and her 1600m record is stronger than most of these. GRINZINGER LASS (5) was only beaten two and a half lengths in that same Open, with a steadied run adding context, though the extra ground still asks something of her. PRINCESS PANCAKES (2) beat Matron Samsing last start and has solid 1600m form, but turning that narrow Open win into another from the outside draw is the task.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Mummsie to get the hat-trick
