Expecting a bold showing. HOLY STEP (1) returns after five months in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a tenth over 1400m at Kyoto. Rates highly and is a chance to break through. CELEB TORCH (8) is back from a spell of 11 weeks. Closed last prep with a seventh, beaten 6 lengths, over 1200m at Fukushima. Sure to measure up.

THUNDER BIRD (9) remains a maiden after five runs. Met with plenty of support last time but could only manage to finish tenth over 1800m at Kyoto. Drew off the track last time after a strong return. Has the ability to take this out. MONT ROYAL (5) was in the money two starts back at Fukushima then missed the frame but was not too far away last time over 1800m at Niigata. Will drift back but wind up late. Shapes as one of the top chances. BRANCH OUT (1) went forward last time and looked a chance on the corner but tired to finish fourth over 1600m at Hanshin. Cannot be ruled out in this suitable assignment. ENGLEMAN (8) ran a fair race on debut last time out, beaten 6 lengths into seventh over 1800m at Niigata on May 16. Shapes as one to consider.

CHUWA MELODY (4) has been freshened up since a narrow defeat last time over 1400m at Kyoto. Long overdue. Narrowly missed last start and is a top chance again. MOZU V (13) closed last prep nine weeks ago when he finished sixth over 1200m at Fukushima. Race sets up well for him. DRUM MAJOR (6) returns after nine weeks in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a 12th over 1200m at Kyoto. One of the leading chances. TIGER ROAD (5) finished 5 lengths from the winner in seventh last time out over 1400m at Kyoto on May 2. Likely to go forward from a nice draw. Don't underestimate.

GREEN GO (6) returns after a spell of nine weeks. Started the last campaign in good style when in the placings over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt. Overdue for a win and looks a strong chance to kick the campaign off on the right note. MENDELEJEV (10) is back after a break of 11 weeks. At the last run before the layoff he finished fourth over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt. Good chance to break through. RED PEERLESS (2) ran a better race last start at his second appearance, finishing fifth over 1400m at Hanshin Dirt. Progressive type who is nearing a win. GOLDEN BOB (7) finished 11 lengths away in seventh at his last appearance over 1800m at Kyoto Dirt on May 2. This looks a nice race so expect him to finish closer.

WORLD ANGEL (1) is a nicely bred two-year-old filly lining up for the first time. By Suave Richard from Earth Angel who has a high percentage of winners-to-runners. Beautifully drawn and is sure to be popular in betting. INDY JAZZ (10) is a filly by Indy Champ from the stakes-winner Jazz Etude on debut. Profiles strongly and expecting a strong performance. ELDER KRONE (7) is a two-year-old colt on debut from the stable of Masayuki Nishimura. By Danon Legend from Noble Crown. Bold showing expected. SHINE ROAD (4) is on debut. By Tower Of London and is out of the Satoshi Inoue stable. Watch the market closely.

SUITOYO (3) is on debut for the Koichi Tsunoda stable. Two-year-old filly by Ares Barows from Kashino Tida. Profiles strongly and expected to measure up. Keep a close eye on betting. TOSHIMICHI (1) is a two-year-old colt facing the starter for the first time. From a successful breeding line, being by Ares Barows from Thurston Lala. Should get all the favours from this good gate and should be about the money. NISHINO MARTINI (10) is appearing for the first time. By Nero and is out of the Hitoshi Kotegawa stable. Bold showing expected. KAGOSHIMA (7) is a two-year-old gelding at the races for the first time. From a successful breeding line, being by Copano Charlie from Reste En Or. Promising type who is one to keep tabs on in the betting.

GOLDEN BALANCE (2) finished eighth over 1400m at Hanshin Dirt at his most recent appearance on April 12. Well back in trip but has won fresh. Rates highly and is likely to be prominent. MIRAI HARMONY (9) is fitter for two runs from a spell, last start finishing 1.5 lengths away in third over 1200m at Niigata Dirt. Good chance to break through. AIKAN AZZURRA (4) faded last time to finish 11th over 1400m at Kyoto Dirt after showing good early speed. Worth another chance. PAS DE ZEPHYR (5) has not appeared since she finished ninth over 1200m at Hanshin Dirt on March 7. Definite top-three chance.

SALIENTE (9) raced just off the lead before letting down nicely and scoring a one length win over this journey at Hanshin last time. In form and will take beating again. GRAND OPUS (1) finished 3 lengths away in seventh last time out over 1600m at Hanshin after being prominent at the turn when fresh from a spell. Steps up in distance today. Has good early speed so should take up a forward position. Likely to feature. MEISHO PIRKA (3) turned in a decent effort last start to finish second over 2000m at Hanshin. Well placed and there is no reason she cannot find winning ways. EMBEKKE (4) returns from a spell of three months. Was safely held at the only appearance last prep when 13th over 1600m at Chukyo. Among the better hopes.

NARITA ESPERANZA (7) was prominent throughout when winning fresh over 2000m at Hanshin. Has a high cruising speed. Won only other try second-up and expected to go close again. SARATOGA CHIPS (5) resumes today after filling a minor placing at his last appearance at Nakayama over 2500m on March 7. Expect him to play a major role. NEW CREDO (6) returns from a spell of nine weeks and did win first-up last time in work over 2200m at Chukyo. One of the genuine hopes in the race. BOND LOA (4) resumes in a similar race to his last run four-and-a-half months ago when tenth, beaten 6 lengths. Makes plenty of appeal.

RHATISCHE (3) came home strongly last start to finish third, beaten 1.5 lengths, over 1400m at Tokyo Dirt. Drawn to enjoy a nice trail just off the pace. Expected to be in the finish. T O LYMAN (7) hasn't made an impression lately despite market confidence. Last start could only manage fifth over 1800m at Kyoto Dirt. Rates highly on best figures. ALANA KOA (11) closed last prep with a seventh over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt on April 5. Worth noting that he opened the last campaign with a minor placing at Hanshin Dirt over 1400m. Expecting to see a bold return. COSMO STORM (13) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1400m at Hanshin Dirt, beaten 2.75 lengths. Fitter so expect a better run this time.

SKY HIGH (8) ran fifth at his latest appearance over 1400m at Tokyo, clocking in 1.4 lengths from the winner. Close to a win and has placed 2/3 when third-up. Expected to perform well. ASAKUSA GRACE (6) returns from a break of 11 weeks. Consistent performer last prep whose most recent appearance resulted in a win over 1200m at Fukushima. Nicely placed to kick off another successful campaign. JUN VIN QUETE (3) returned from a spell seven weeks ago when he was beaten 10 lengths into 15th over 1000m at Niigata. Strips fitter and can feature. BLACK KELLY (7) failed to threaten when fresh from a spell last time out, beaten 9 lengths into 13th over 1200m at Kyoto. Worth noting her strong second-up record. Solid contender in this line up.

BLACK LEGEND (12) is back at the races for the first time since April 25. Course and distance winner and placed only try fresh. Looks a winning chance. INTIME (3) impressed when successful on debut over 1700m at Fukushima Dirt ten weeks ago and has not been produced since. Promising type who can go back-to-back. SERGE BAROWS (8) is a promising type who hasn't raced since finishing 22 lengths away in 12th over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt on April 5. Has never missed the frame when fresh from a spell in two starts. Has the pace to settle in the leading division. Sure to be competitive. MIRANDE (1) has not raced since he scored over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt on March 15. Definite player.
