The Ville QTIS Two-Years-Old Maiden Handicap 1200m
Solid tempo with Charming Seahorse leading from Heart Of Vienna and Monday Close.
The maiden babies kick us off. HEART OF VIENNA (3) has gotten better with each career outing and looks to be working up to a maiden victory. Has placed over this track and trip and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley. Rates the testing material against this line-up. CHARMING SEAHORSE (1) has been right there in all three starts to date and gets some weight relief with the 2kg claim. Looms as the main danger. MONDAY CLOSE (2) hit the frame here last time out and will be at peak fitness for this. Top-three credentials. OSTUNI (6) hasn't been too far away of late and may earn some minor money. SAILING SOLO (4) next best with the claim. SUGGESTED PLAY: Heart Of Vienna to break the maiden status. |

Hygain QTIS Maiden Handicap 1000m
Emsies Girl to take charge ahead of Boom Bunny at a good tempo. SENSEI GIRL (3) is unlucky to still be a maiden placing in all three outings this time in work and strikes a very winnable contest here. Jokic sticks in the irons following the last couple of efforts and should be right there when the whips are cracking. Former NSW galloper OVERLAND (2) wasn't too far away here when having the first run for the new stable and will have come on with that run now under the belt. Shapes as a leading hope. BOOM BUNNY (4) has placed four of seven over this track and trip and will be rock-hard fit for this. In the mix. FOXY CHEVAL (9) strips fitter second-up from the break and maps nicely for this from gate three. One for the exotics players. VAN DER WOODSEN (11) next best in a race with only a handful of chances. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 3,2,4,9. |

Belle Property Handicap 1000m
Midas Star and Blue Stratum should set a strong clip.
Competitive contest. It's hard to knock the form of ALMIGHTY JAB (6) who has put back-to-back wins together and is racing high on confidence of late. Gets in well at the weights with the 2kg claim and should get a cosy run in transit from gate two. Goes on top. BLUE STRATUM (7) has placed two from two over this track and trip and will be cherry-ripe now fourth run back from the break. Can make his presence felt. RUSSIAN MINT (5) has only missed a drum once in six spins over this course and distance and rarely puts in a poor one. Has to be included in calculations. VALENKI (3) went down by a narrow margin here at the latest outing and may earn some minor money again. MIDAS STAR (8) goes well for hoop Teh who has three wins and a placing from just four steers. In the mix on best figures. SUGGESTED PLAY: Almighty Jab to bring up the hat-trick. |

Great Northern Brewing Co BM60 Handicap 1000m
Solid tempo with several going forward headed by Exolent Choice.
GUAC ON (5) is having his first run for the new stable but will find this easier than the south east QLD races he was competing in when last in work. Should get a gun run in transit from gate three and a strong showing while fresh would not surprise. GAMADALE NIP (1) is a consistent commodity who has hit the top-five at his past eight starts and will be rock-hard fit for this. Right in this contest. NORTHERNONTAP (2) loves this track and trip with four wins and three seconds from just nine attempts and is usually thereabouts. Top-three candidate. EXOLENT CHOICE (4) is a bit hit or miss but is more than capable enough on his day. Solid claims on best figures. VERY GOOD (11) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be underestimated. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 5,1,2,4. |

LADBROKES MAGNETIC ISLAND MILE OPEN Handicap 1609m
Free Carry should find the front with Smart Legend and Hyde Park on his heels.
SMART LEGEND (1) loves it here around the Townwsville circuit with two wins and a placing from four spins and will be high on confidence following back-to-back victories. Winning hoop Wiggins stays on top and can easily bring up the hat-trick against this line-up. The well-related FREE CARRY (4) (half to Listed winner and G3 placed Sheiswhatsheis) went down by a narrow margin here when having his first run for the new stable and will be better for that hit-out. Only needs some luck navgating from the wide draw to be playing a major role in the finish. GOING NUCLEAR (5) has a handy record over this course and distance only missing a place once from six attempts. Include in calculations. ELLA TE AMA (6) will be ready to peak now fourth run back and draws the inside marble. In the mix. BEAU RAIN (3) next in line. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Quinella 1,4,5. |

Boots & Beats next Sunday BM65 Handicap 1400m
Without a recognised leader, Colleano and Ginger Mick will likely set the pace. EL PENSADOR (2) has been plying his trade in harder south east QLD contests of late and will appreciate the drop back in company here. Boasts a win and three placings from seven attempts at the trip and should be right there when the judge calls a halt. MATERIALIST (6) has won two from four over this distance range and will be rock-hard fit for this contest. Worth including on best form. FIRST MAN (5) is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley and is better than that recent effort suggests. Can bounce right back. GOT GUMPTION (7) has hit the top-four in six of his past seven outings and is usually thereabouts. One for the exotics players. CHARTWELL (3) best of the rest with Wiggins in the stirrups. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning towards El Pensador. |

Loco Degenerates QTIS 0 - 55 Handicap 1200m
Although coming from wide gates Tsunami and Magic Sunny Day have enough early speed to cross and lead. Open race to close out the card. HOT COCOA (12) is an honest commodity who has hit the top-five in all five outings the preparation and does boast a win around this circuit. Looks the runner in this field with the most upside and should be right there at the business end. BETTER BREAKOUT (2) may have suffered from the dreaded second-up syndrome last time out but the form prior was full of merit. Worth another chance. TSUNAMI (4) is a course and distance winner who gets some weight relief with the 2kg claim. Sure to give backers a sight up on speed. FANCY GARTER (6) doesn't win out of turn but is never too far away and may trouble the judge with any luck in running. GO COMMANDO (3) next best despite the sticky draw. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Hot Cocoa. |
