RAIKA (3) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 1.5 lengths when fifth over 1400m at Tokyo Dirt four weeks ago. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. MEISHO TAIZAN (1) is a seven-start maiden who finished fourth at his most recent appearance over 1700m at this track. Form prior was good for this and expected to be in the finish. TELIKOS (4) ran below expectations last time at this track, finishing tenth and beaten 11 lengths. Suitably placed so anticipating a better run this time.

INGRAM (7) was thereabouts last time out when second at this track over 1000m, beaten half a length. Cherry-ripe now. Big chance to score. VITAMIN DROP (8) did a good job last start to finish second at this track over 1000m, beaten one length. That run should have him rock-hard fit now. Hard to beat. JA NALIA (9) missed the frame last time when fifth at Hakodate. Prior to that had been in the money on three consecutive occasions. Should be prominent from the outset. Should be involved in the finish. ECORO SERENA (1) ran below expectations last start, finishing seventh and beaten 9 lengths at this track over 1000m. Well placed to turn things around.

HO O FAMILY (10) returned last time with a solid second at this track over 2600m after being prominent at the turn. In the right race and is sure to prove hard to beat. SALT HAPPY (8) is yet to break through in eight runs. Finished fifth at his last appearance over 2400m at Kyoto on May 30. Among the top chances in what looks a most suitable race. FORTUNE ROSE (3) is a five-start maiden who returned last time and finished fifth at this track over 2600m, beaten 4.5 lengths. Will derive great benefit from that outing and deserves consideration. NORI MARU (14) went forward over 2600m at this track last time but found a couple better. Must be respected.

CHOPIN CONCOURS (1) is on debut for the T Iwato stable. Two-year-old colt by Mikki Isle from Malham Cove. Looks set to run well. Betting holds the key. SOKAI FAMILIA (4) is a two-year-old colt who lines up for the first time. From an elite family that includes black type success, being by Declaration Of War from A Shin M D. Promising type who is ready to run a bold race. AZURITE TIARA (5) is a two-year-old filly on debut from the stable of Tamio Hamada. By New Year's Day from Hi Lili. Watch the market closely.

MATENRO ORIGIN (14) gave a great sight when resuming last time over 2000m at this track when he raced up on the pace and fought on gamely only to be narrowly beaten. Expected to go close. SEAGULL WORLD (11) was only beaten 1.75 lengths when fifth on debut last time out over 2000m at Tokyo. Open to plenty of improvement and is a big chance to break through. SHONAN AWARD (4) is yet to break through in eight runs. Finished 14th at his last appearance over 1800m at this track on June 14. Suited in this line up and is among the better hopes. ROSSA COMETA (6) finished 3.5 lengths from the winner in ninth at her most recent outing over 1800m at this track. Suited in this line up and is among the better hopes.

HIMINO ETOILE (7) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with only one victory from 11 starts. First try this trip and leading rider goes aboard. Best figures measure up nicely. Makes plenty of appeal. ARISTOCRACIA (5) doesn't win very often but ran a nice race last time out over 1800m at Kyoto Dirt, finishing fourth and beaten 1.75 lengths. Finds a suitable race and can figure in the finish. BEACH INN (2) recorded her first win when resuming last start over 1700m at this track, getting home by 1.5 lengths. Kazuo Yokoyama was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the ride. Harder here but should be involved in the finish. CAT TAIL (4) showed early speed from a good draw last time and battled on to finish sixth, beaten 3 lengths, over 1200m at Niigata Dirt. Worth including.

MICHAEL BAROWS (8) hit the frame when resuming two runs back at Kyoto but couldn't back it up last start when ninth, beaten 4.5 lengths, over 1200m at Hanshin after pushing forward from a wide gate. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat. NIL MAHANEL (12) is back after a break of 12 weeks. Started the last campaign impressively when in the placings over 1200m at Nakayama. Yet to win first up but generally runs well with three minor placings from three tries. Has ability and should be right in the finish. LEO AGILE (9) showed good early speed and raced on the pace last start before fading to finish seventh, beaten 6 lengths, over 1400m at Tokyo. Will push forward and is among the chances. D'S MEMPHIS (6) turned in a fine effort to score by 1.3 lengths at this course and distance last start in a much improved run. Finds a tougher race but another big run will not surprise.

COME UP ROSES (1) has been out of the placings in two runs since a break, the latest when fourth, beaten 2 lengths, over 2000m at this track after he settled well back. Should be peaking now and is expected to feature in the finish. GO GO TAKASHI (3) did a good job last start to finish second at Tokyo over 1800m, beaten half a length. Hasn't been far away this time in work with three minor placings from six starts. Best form puts him right in this. DOGWOOD (4) finished second last time over 1800m at this track when resuming from a spell, beaten 2 lengths. Placed to advantage so expect a big run. NETTAIYA RAI (5) drew wide and was pretty plain last time out when 4.5 lengths from the winner in seventh at this course and distance. Has good early speed so should take up a forward position. Don't underestimate.

WIN CHAGAS (10) is close to a win after a string of minor placings, the latest when third over 1800m at Hakodate. Nicely placed to give this a mighty shake. YUJUANA (6) went to the paddock after scoring at her last appearance nine weeks ago over 1700m at Fukushima Dirt. Rates highly and is likely to be prominent. PRINSESSA (1) last appeared when she finished eighth over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt on March 21. Sure to make her presence felt. CONTIO (4) is a handy type who resumes after a break of three-and-a-half months. Only appeared once last prep when she finished seventh over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt, beaten 8 lengths. Has scored first-up from a spell before. Should park just off the speed. Can feature in the finish.
11 03:20 THE HAKODATE KINEN 2000m
FAUST RASEN (2) is much better than recent runs look. Hasn't raced since tackling the Grade 1 Osaka Hai at Hanshin. Huge class drop and has won fresh. Rates highly and makes plenty of appeal this company. IGATCHI (5) returns after a spell of nine weeks. Looking to emulate his win at Kyoto to kick off the last campaign. Strong chance to kick the campaign off on the right note. KEIAI SENA (8) finished tenth over 1600m in the G3 Lord Derby Challenge Trophy at Nakayama at his most recent appearance on April 4. This easier and worth plenty of thought. ECORO DINOS (12) comes here off a break of 12 weeks. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last time in work over 2200m at Kyoto. Among the better hopes.

WHITE DRAGON (14) went forward when resuming last start and proved too strong, getting home by half a length over 1200m at this track. Likely to press forward from wide out. Fitter agin and sure to take catching. UCHUNO SEKAI (4) resumed over 1200m in the G3 AOI STAKES at Kyoto and showed good speed to lead around the bend before fading to finish eighth, beaten 4 lengths. Significant class drop this time. Bold showing expected. SIGUR ROS (10) displayed plenty of early toe and went on to score by 0.8 lengths last time out over 1200m at this track. Meets a stronger field but she is good enough to take this out. VIVA CROWN (6) progressed nicely last time out to finish just 0.6 lengths from the winner in third over 1200m at this track. Looks to be in the right race so he should be in contention again.
