NUM TIME COMMENT
1 10:00 Maiden Race 1200m
DIAMOND KNOT (5) wasn't far away on debut last start over 1200m at Hanshin, finishing third and beaten 1.75 lengths. Open to sharp improvement and can get off the mark this time. LALA CLAIR DE LUNE (10) made an encouraging debut last time out, finishing one length from the winner in second over 1200m at this track. Among the chances.
2 10:30 Maiden Race 1800m
AS YOU LIKE (4) finished out of the money when fresh from a spell two starts back then was beaten 1.4 lengths when fourth over 1600m at Hanshin three weeks ago after being prominent at the turn. Likely improver with strong prospects. LEON PRIME (9) was narrowly beaten at a huge quote last time out, finishing second over 1600m at Hanshin. A repeat of that last effort puts her right in this. ADORABILE (14) was in the money two starts back at Kyoto then missed the frame but was not too far away last time over 1600m at Hanshin. Should be parked just off the speed. Solid top-three chance. VOIE LACTEE (16) has been freshened up since she finished sixth over 1800m at Niigata seven weeks ago. Better than last start and is a chance in this line up.
3 11:00 Maiden Race 1000m
DEMON SLAYER (2) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest coming when second over 1000m at this track after being in the firing line all the way. Should be handy in the run again from the good draw. Finds a suitable race and can play a major role. MITONO CAT (13) made progress last time out, finishing 2.5 lengths from the winner in second at the end of 1000m at this track after being prominent at the corner. Likely improver with strong prospects. KEY GUTS (8) is racing well without winning. Last start finished second, beaten 1.5 lengths, over 1200m at Hanshin Dirt. Genuine contender. CHIMNEY PIPE (3) has been kept fresh for this since a disappointing seventh last start over 1200m at Kyoto Dirt six weeks ago. Well placed to make amends.
4 11:35 SOLEIL JUMP STAKES 3390m
ALL THE WORLD (2) is resuming from a layoff of three months. Raced just the once last campaign, finishing second in a steeplechase (3170m) at Kyoto. Big chance in this line-up. NEVIIM (1) is a very good fresh performer returning from a layoff of three months. Kicked off with a minor placing at Hanshin in a steeplechase when last in work. Solid top-three chance. ASAKUSA GENKI (5) is looking to improve on a last-start fifth in a G2 steeplechase (3930m) at Kyoto on May 17. Sure to make his presence felt. KNIGHT SPEAR (3) is a reliable jumper who was back to something like his best with a third in a steeplechase (3170m) at Kyoto last time out. Hard to beat if on his game.
5 12:25 Newcomer Race 1800m
MIKKI MERMAID (1) is a nicely bred two-year-old filly making her first appearance at the races. By Epiphaneia from Enticed who has produced Erika Express to win at stakes level. Should get all the favours from this good gate and looks set to play a major role. GARDIENNE (3) is on debut for the Ryo Takahashi stable. Two-year-old filly by Drefong from Heritiere. Should get into a favourable position out of an inside gate. One to keep close tabs on, particularly if popular with punters. COEUR FRANC (11) is facing the starter for the first time. By Frankel and comes from the Manabu Ikezoe stable. Expect a bold run. MURUDE (4) is appearing for the first time. By Firenze Fire and hails from the Kenta Fujino stable. Pay to watch for any positive betting moves.
6 12:55 Maiden Race 1200m
PURPLE PARAISO (10) is building towards his maiden success, the latest effort a solid third over 1200m at this track, beaten 0.6 lengths. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race. LUX COLOGNE (7) is a maiden with two minor placings to her name. Could not improve on that record when resuming last start, winding up in ninth over 1200m at Hanshin. Generally runs well second up. Ideally placed to get off the mark. WEISSKLEE (2) is a six-start maiden who finished seventh at her most recent outing over 1600m at Kyoto. Finds the right race and is worth consideration. PIERCED EARS (12) debuted five weeks ago when he finished tenth over 1200m at Hanshin, beaten 5 lengths. Will be better for that run and is expected to go well.
7 01:25 Maiden Race 2000m
LIVINGSTONE (3) raced on the speed when resuming last start and battled on well but found one better over 2000m at Hanshin. Can improve enough to win this. OVERSTAND (14) is back after a break of eight months. At the last run before the layoff he finished sixth over 1800m at Kyoto. Ready to find winning form. KING BEL (17) is a five-start maiden who finished fourth, beaten 2.25 lengths, when resuming from a spell last start over 2000m at Hanshin. Should progress from that last outing and poses a genuine threat. FIORE STRADA (15) is a nicely bred three-year-old filly on debut. By Epiphaneia from the former top race mare Quatre Feuilles who has produced some fine gallopers, including Gr 3 winner Argine. Looks one of the better chances despite a tricky gate.
8 01:55 Allowance Race 1700m
GYLFI (4) resumes after a break of three months. Won on debut to launch the last campaign over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt. Likely to be up for this and appeals as the one to beat. YUKINO CROWN (9) led throughout last time over 1800m at Kyoto Dirt on a soft track and scored a comfortable win. Down in the weights this time and should prove tough to beat. YORINO LEGEND (5) closed last prep 11 weeks ago when he finished fifth over 1600m at Tokyo Dirt. Lightly raced colt who has definite claims. STAKE ALL (14) is a promising type who hasn't raced since finishing 10 lengths away in fifth over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt on April 6 which was the only run of that prep. Has won when fresh from a spell in the past. Not to be discounted.
9 02:25 HIKOSAN TOKUBETSU 2600m
JOY BOY (1) was too good for a maiden field last start over 2400m at Kyoto, scoring by one length. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Sure to prove tough to beat again with that win now under his belt. TAKE THE CROWN (9) is still a maiden after 15 starts. Managed to fill a minor placing at Fukushima two starts back when resuming before finishing seventh over 2400m at Kyoto last start. Likely to be about the money. SHINE BAOBAB (4) wasn't far away last time at big odds, finishing third over 2400m at Hanshin. Definite danger again. RABUKA (10) was in contention on the bend and finished second last time over 2200m at Hanshin when resuming from a spell, beaten 2 lengths. Will trim down second-up. Placed to advantage and can feature in the finish.
10 03:01 YAME TOKUBETSU 1700m
LUFTKUSS (9) missed the placings two runs back then did well last start but found a couple better over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt, beaten only 0.8 lengths after being in the firing line on the corner. Likely improver with strong prospects. THE BRIDE (5) last appeared when she scored over 1800m at Chukyo Dirt on November 30. Expect her to play a major role. TAMAMO NAPOLI (7) was a determined winner two back then raced on the speed last time before finishing eighth over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt. Has a high cruising speed. Capable of testing this field. SMART PRECIOUS (3) was below her best last time when 15th over 1800m at Niigata Dirt, beaten 13 lengths. Looks well placed so expect a better run this time.
11 03:35 BUSAN STAKES 1000m
MUUMUU (5) finished fourth over 1200m at Kyoto Dirt at her most recent appearance on May 4. Has won when fresh from a break in the past. Rates highly and should take some beating. AMERICAN MARCH (9) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1200m at Hanshin Dirt, beaten 11 lengths after being in the firing line on the bend. Fitter so expect a better run this time. FUKO SUNRISE (7) started at $4.80 last time and ran below expectations, finishing seventh and beaten 3.5 lengths at Kokura over 1200m after being handy on the turn. It doesn't get any easier but on her best form she is capable of a big performance. NEGRESCO (2) ran well despite being friendless in betting when resuming last time over 1200m at Hanshin Dirt, finishing second and beaten 0.8 lengths. Can make an impact again.
12 04:15 Allowance Race 1200m
SNOW SILENCE (6) strode forward early from her wide draw over 1000m at Kokura Dirt when fresh from a spell last time, leading for much of the way before being claimed in the straight to finish third, beaten 4.5 lengths. Will take catching. DANON MONTE ROSA (17) is a progressive four-year-old gelding who hasn't raced since finishing second over 1200m at this track on February 22 which was the only run of that prep. Has scored first-up from a spell before. Best form puts him right in this. D S TOKKI (7) finished second last time over 1200m at this track, beaten 2.5 lengths. Likely improver with winning claims. TAMAMO BROWN TIE (14) failed to threaten when fresh from a spell last time out, beaten 6 lengths into 11th over 1200m at Kyoto. Has good early speed so should take up a forward position. Solid claims on best form.
