Race Overview

ALICE SPRINGS   13 July 2025
NUM TIME COMMENT
1 11:43 Centreline Saddlery & Country Outfitters Handicap 1200m
Small field but expecting a genuine tempo with plenty of pace engaged. LUSKIN HERO (2) has been well placed to win his last couple of starts on the bounce. He won't find this much harder, and has carried more weight to win in the past. He has the advantage of the pole position, and the hat-trick beckons. KICKATORP (1) has been third in both of her starts back from a spell at Alice Springs and lines up here with the blinkers back on. He is peaking at the right time and has a handy record on this circuit. Each way claims again. BOY BIG (4) is racing as well as ever and was runner-up behind the top pick in the same race last time out. He is better off at the weights and can finish a lot closer this time. Stick with him. EXPERT WITNESS (3) has been spelling since a couple of runs earlier in the year at Alice Springs. He can be competitive at this level and has won 4 times fresh up in the past. Don't risk him. BOLD TROPIC (5) needs to improve, but his past form has been good enough to see him feature in fields like this.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Luskin Hero to win.
2 12:22 Ladbrokes Red Centre Winter Series (Heat 5) 1000m
Solid tempo with several going forward headed by Only The Best. ONLY THE BEST (4) won his last start here by nearly a length just over 6 weeks ago and has been given plenty of time to get over that effort. That win broke a long win drought, and he won't find this any harder. He is up 4kg in weight, but can repeat the dose. MUSELET (7) ran a solid race for third here nearly a fortnight ago and will benefit from a 3kg claim. A good draw helps, and she can figure in the top 3 again. JAMAICAN GOLD (6) has had 3 starts on this track since joining the local Lisa Whittle stable from South Australia earlier in the year. He has the pole position this time and has each-way claims. REVOLUTION RISING (1) made some progress last prep and will be resuming from a short spell here. He is unbeaten in 2 starts here over the trip, and should not be underestimated at this level. BODMIN BOY (2) has been holding his form well since breaking through for his overdue first win 4 starts back. Stick with him on an each-way basis.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Only The Best to win.
3 12:57 Rimfire Energy Handicap 1000m
Keen battle for the lead with Incivility, Floral Code and Quanapirri Bay in advance of Arrogant Miss and Tango Stepz. QUANAPIRRI BAY (1) was a game runner-up by half a length here last time out to maintain his good form this prep. He slides down slightly in grade here, and he will be hard to hold out. TANGO STEPZ (2) is a durable veteran mare still racing in good form. She followed up her recent win with a game run for second here nearly 4 weeks ago. This is an easier assignment, and with a 3kg claim to help offset her weight rise, she can take this out. FLORAL CODE (3) was a beaten favourite here 13 days ago and gets a big swing in his draw this time. He strips fitter and can figure in the top 3, so follow your money. ARROGANT MISS (4) is another handy veteran mare who capped off her recent good form with a long overdue win. With the right run, she can win again. INCIVILITY (5) led up and fought on gamely for second here last time out over 1200m. There is a query with his record over 1000m, but he gets a chance to improve that stat here. Include in all multiples to be safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Quanapirri Bay to win.
4 01:32 "Truckies Day" 29 August Handicap 1400m
Pace strong with Run And Tell and Hebel leading with Super Sharp nearby. SUPER SHARP (2) finished second by a short-head here nearly a fortnight ago and will find this company more to his liking. He has a good draw and can get the job done this time. STRIKE EAGLE (3) has yet to win on this track but has been placed 8 times from his 13 starts. The blinkers come off, and Danielle Hirini, who is riding well, steps into the irons. She may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most. HEBEL (1) was remarkably heavily supported when winning his maiden here in his penultimate start by 12 lengths. He only battled over a mile last time out and can bounce back into the money here in a more suitable grade. BECQUEREL (4) has been steadily improving with racing and should be spot on with his fitness fourth up from a spell. Include in all combinations. RUN AND TELL (5) has had 3 starts for his new stable and has yet to fire. He has beaten better fields than this in the past, and if his mind is on the job, then he is capable of a top 3 finish.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Super Sharp to win.
5 02:14 Easy Carwash Handicap 1400m
Lack of speed in the small line-up so it may become a sit and sprint affair. PROPHESIER (1) capped off some sound form with a well-deserved win here nearly 2 weeks ago. He is at his best over this trip, and even with more weight to carry, he can repeat the dose. VITESSE BREEZE (4) usually makes it tough on himself by making a slow start, but got the gaps at the right time and scored by a short-head here 13 days ago over 1100m. The extra 300m will suit him, and if he could only begin with them, he could win again. DR VENKMAN (2) is proving to be hard to catch these days, and he needs to have his mind on the job. If you catch him on the right day, then he is capable of a top 3 finish. MYOCEAN WARRIOR (3) has yet to show anything since moving from South Australia. He is better than what he is showing, and in this modest field, he is worth one more chance. TITANIUM PRINCE (6) was a beaten favourite at Pakenham nearly 6 weeks ago on their poly track, and will be making his local debut here. Use the market as your best guide.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Titanium Price each-way.
6 02:47 Ladbrokes Top 2/3/4 Handicap 1600m
They should run this along with Valley Prince and Better Not Fuss taking it up over Mi Mijo. MI MIJO (2) has found his best form again and is chasing a hat-trick of wins after scoring by a length here nearly 2 weeks ago. He has performed with credit at this level in the past and can get the job done again. LA VESUVIUS (1) led all the way to score at his local debut and then was third as an odds-on favourite here last time out over 1400m. He is ready now for a mile, and he will be hard to hold out again. VALLEY PRINCE (3) is a durable veteran who races pretty much exclusively on this track. He will be peaking third up, and with 3kg less to carry this time, he can figure in the top 3. BETTER NOT FUSS (4) can mix his form and put in one of his better efforts here last time out when finishing second. This is his pet trip, and a similar effort would see him go close again. SILENTDEEL (6) was an overdue maiden winner out of his class here 3 starts back, and he drops 2kg from his last start fifth. He has the pole position and can run into the money. MURRAJONG ROAD (5) place claims.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Mi Mijo to win.
