QUBE PORT HEDLAND MAIDEN 1400m
Boltco Jack and Ricco D'oro will settle forward and can set a moderate tempo. ONLY BY THE NIGHT (4) disappointed at Marble Bar when beaten a long way as the equal favourite, but he was out to the mile on that occasion. Now back to 1400m with the visors going on first time and Yuill now hops in the saddle. Can bounce back to his best form and land the knockout blow. BLACK CILLA (7) is a lightly-raced filly who was solid at Marble Bar last week. She wasn't beaten far over 1300m here two back and will carry little weight today after the claim of Bailey Webster. Can improve out in distance again and can play a leading role. BOLTCO JACK (1) couldn't match the winner last start at Roebourne after a solid effort at Carnarvon prior. The rise in trip may be what he's looking for however and the blinkers come off again. Can be in the finish. IFFUBLUSH (5) wasn't far away last start and has claims. BLATANT DISARRAY (6) is next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: With Only By Night in the opener. |

IN MEMORY OF JULIE ARIF & LESLIE BRACKIN HANDICAP 1300m
Simply Rosso to take charge ahead of Royalzel at a strong tempo. TORQUED UP (4) got the job done by a nose at Carnarvon last start and looks well placed in this event on the back of that performance. The inside draw should see him handy in the run and he's nicely weighted after Nettle's 3kg claim. Can repeat the dose. SIMPLY ROSSO (1) is hard to knock on recent form and finds himself back in grade today. He's won 2/3 here prior, though this is his first time out to 1300m. Can put himself on the speed and he'll prove tough to run down with the 4kg claim. ROYALZEL (2) disappointed at Marble Bar but the rider said he didn't handle the kick back there when a beaten favourite. He was much better here the start prior and Yuill's booking is a good push for his chances. He was a big winner here in May and he's a live chance. JUSTHANDY (7) is better than she showed last start and can bounce back. Ditto VERNACULAR (6) who didn't have much luck late in the race last start. SUGGESTED PLAY: Torqued Up can get the job done. |

ORESOME AIR HANDICAP 1300m
Mrs Kangaroo and Shooting Kontiki should set a strong clip. INCANDESCENT LADY (7) was far too good when sitting on the speed at Carnarvon last start, holding on to win by 0.8L. The form out of that race has stacked up well, with a winner and a placegetter from just 2 subsequent starters. 1300m is the question, but if she sees out the journey she'll be hard to catch. SHE IS GOD (3) won nicely two back before a flat effort most recently at Roebourne when 5.3L off the winner. She was in good order here prior to that and she's one that'll be suited by the rise in trip. Drawn nicely and appears the main danger. SHOOTING KONTIKI (2) won at this track and trip two back before a solid run at Marble bar just last week. This shapes similarly to his run here two back with Mahony hopping back in the saddle. Can put himself in the frame. MRS KANGAROO (4) just missed behind Shooting Kontiki here two back and has to be included on that effort despite a disappointing run last start. CHOICE BID (5) will find this easier than recent efforts and can improve. SUGGESTED PLAY: Incandescent Lady goes on top. |

BULKLINE HAULAGE HANDICAP 1300m
Moderate tempo with How Pretty leading the way. BORDER CONTROL (1) is clearly the one to beat on recent form, picking up his rivals here last start after being slowly away to win easily. That form has worked out nicely and he only rises 1kg for the victory. Dominant last start and from a good draw today, he can make it four wins in-a-row. HOLY GHOST (2) resumes for the new barn today off a good solid break and will find this a lot easier than what he's been racing in. He was well beaten at the end of last campaign, though his ratings prior stack up highly among this field. The 3kg claim comes in handy and if he can be at that level coming onto the dirt, he'll give them something to think about. JACKEMJAMES (4) steps out to 1300m now following a good win on the 7-day back up at Roebourne last start. The inside draw can see him close to the speed and he's a track and trip winner previously. HOW PRETTY (5) is better than she's shown recently and can improve. OUR KIWI PRINCESS (3) has claims off a big win last week at Marble Bar. SUGGESTED PLAY: Border Control can keep his winning streak in tact. |

PRETTY POOLS SERVICING HANDICAP 1200m
Living Like Kings and Prinsessa Anja to take up the running at a strong tempo. LIVING LIKE KINGS (2) bolted in over 1100m at Roebourne last start, leading the way and putting his rivals to the sword by 7 lengths. That's hard to ignore as he started an odds-on pop there and he stays at the sprinting trips. Just missed here first-up, but he's gone to a new level now and can repeat the dose. SIGN THE PAPERS (3) got the job done at Marble Bar when scoring by 0.7L as the equal favourite. Up in weight today, but he turned in a strong figure when scoring last start and he still has some room for improvement. He appears the main danger. KIA ORA TATOU (1) has been playing the role of bridesmaid so far this campaign but he's only gone under narrowly in all 3 runs. Back to 1200m now with the visors on first time could see him go one better. MATSOKA (4) is ticking along nicely and won't be far away. PRINSESSA ANJA (10) is worth including. SUGGESTED PLAY: Living Like Kings can go back-to-back. |

NORWEST CRANE HIRE HANDICAP 1600m
A solid tempo on the cards with Kentucky Blue leading the way. FELLAFROMDOWNUNDER (5) was too strong last start when winning by 0.3L over 1400m and she steps up to the mile now. She won off a similar set up last start and was placed at his only try over the mile previously. Can build on his good win last start. KENTUCKY BLUE (1) is knocking on the door of another win, just being gunned down late last start at Roebourne. While he hasn't won for a while, he continues to put up strong ratings and with his positive racing pattern, he'll give a bold sight once again. URBAN WARRIOR (6) won narrowly last start, beating home Kentucky Blue in the process as he scored narrowly. Up in weight today, but there's not reason why he can't repeat the dose. HEEZA BEAU (3) is better than he showed last start and won't be far away. UNI QUEEN (2) has winning claims off a strong win last week at Marble Bar. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Fellafromdownunder. |

HEDLAND HOTEL HANDICAP 2050m
Solid tempo with Archer County leading from Stay Wealthy and Mercian Hymn. CHUCK A LUCK (6) should appreciate the rise in trip after being run off his feet last start at Carnarvon over the mile. The visors come off now and this race looks to suit a lot better. His form over this longer journey in stronger races is superb for a race like this and he can bounce back to that form today. STAY WEALTHY (1) just missed over 1800m at Roebourne a fortnight ago and steps out to this trip for the first time in his career. He has the speed to cross from out wide and in doing so, he may be able to dictate the speed from up front. Will be in this for a long way. ZADAR ROCK (2) beat home Stay Wealthy last start when jumping the race favourite and won't be hindered by the rise in distance. The inside draw should see him in a handy position and there's no reason why he can't repeat the dose. ARCHER COUNTY (3) won impressively over the mile last start and has claims out in trip. BLAZING TYCOON (5) is in the same boat and won't be far away. SUGGESTED PLAY: Chuck A Luck looks the one to beat in the last. |
