LATESHA BERRY @ METCALFE REAL ESTATE 2100m
Strong tempo assured from Identikit and Gallant Hero leading the charge. IDENTIKIT (3) made the most of a clever ride at Whanganui last time out and was too strong for BM65 company, scoring by a wide margin. She has 1.5kg less to carry and should cope with the class rise. On top again. PICK OF THE LITTER (4) needed her fresh-up run at Arawa Park but was not too far from the winner that day. She has a couple of trials before that effort and should be improving her fitness. She is straight up to a middle distance and can figure in the top 3. GALLANT HERO (1) is a very honest gelding at this level on wet tracks, and he fought on gamely for second at Tauranga 3 weeks ago. He has a good draw and has each-way claims again. PIPER'S SON (5) kept on kicking bravely when lifting late to score by a nose at Otaki just over 3 weeks ago. He normally holds his form when fit and is nicely weighted here after a claim. Stick with him. TEXTBOOK (6) has been building his fitness with 3 runs back from a spell and will relish getting out to a middle distance here. Each way. SUGGESTED PLAY: Pick Of The Litter each-way. |

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST @ METCALFE REAL ESTATE 1200m
Expecting Farravallo to take up the running with Chajaba and Lazio close at hand. LAZIO (3) fought all the way to the line fresh up at Whanganui after racing close to the pace and finished third there 6 weeks ago. He has won a Foxton trial since then and is on target for some richer assignments. On top this time. FARRAVALLO (4) was a well-beaten favourite at Trentham 2 weeks ago but still battled on strongly to finish third. He is seasoned enough now, fourth up to cope with a testing surface, and he will be hard to hold out in a small field. OLD TOWN ROAD (2) is a durable veteran who is always very competitive in the winter months. He was runner-up in the same race as the second pick last time out and has won his only start here. Never rule him out. CHAJABA (1) has won 2 of his 3 starts here and just battled second up last time out at New Plymouth 4 weeks ago. He has won when resuming before that run and can bounce straight back into the money here. TAVIS COURT (5) will be close to his peak fitness now and is ready to put his best hoof forward. Include. SUGGESTED PLAY: Lazio to win. |

SIMON BENDALL @ METCALFE REAL ESTATE 1200m
Expecting Spandeedo to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. SPANDEEDO (1) raced greenly as favourite last time out and battled on bravely to finish third. He won his maiden impressively on this track before that and will continue to improve with racing. He is the one to beat in this. PLATINUM PANTHEON (3) resumed at Listed level and needed the run on a very testing Otaki track just over 3 weeks ago. He strips fitter and will find this easier, so stick with him. ENSIGN ARIA (5) failed to fire in the same Stakes race as the second pick last time out. She has an experience edge over her rivals and will be peaking third up. She draws near the fence, and if it is the place to be, then she can figure in the top 3. RECONVENE (2) battled on gamely when making his debut and finished fourth and then was beaten by a short head at Matamata nearly 4 weeks ago. He is capable of going one better here. RIBELLA ROSE (8) did not do much in her initial prep but is bred to relish wet tracks. Use the market as your best guide. SUGGESTED PLAY: Spandeedo is the one to beat here. |

SHARNA CASKEY @ METCALFE REAL ESTATE 1200m
Expecting Daysofbliss to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint trip. WONDERBOY (2) resumes here. Trial runner-up last month. He has been patiently handled, and his stable is in good form at the moment. On top. STEWART (1) performed well last start when second at Te Rapa over 1400m on a heavy track. He is well seasoned and can go one better here. GOOD CRAIC (6) is still a maiden after 19 starts but was placed at Trentham two back before finishing fourth at Otaki last time out. She has been placed in both of her starts on this track and gets another good chance to crack her maiden status here. CLASSY BRAHMA (9) is showing some promise and has been back to the trials since her last start seventh at New Plymouth. She can figure in the finish this time. DAYSOFBLISS (7) was third on debut at New Plymouth and has been runner-up at the recent Foxton trials since then. Include in all combinations. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stewart has sound each-way claims in this even field. |

SCOTT ROBERTS @ METCALFE REAL ESTATE 1600m
Moderate tempo with Espresso To Go leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. CHANTILLY LACE (5) tried her heart out when finishing runner-up at Trentham 2 weeks ago and is as tough as old boots, having her third run in as many weeks. The small field will ensure that she stays in touch with the leaders, and she deserves a winning turn. BENEFACTOR (4) was too tough at BM75 level at Otaki just over 3 weeks ago. She will still be on the up with her fitness and drops 3kg here. Stick with her. WHEELITIN (6) has not won for some time and did not get into the race at Trentham last time out, on a day where it was very tough going for those out the back. She is normally very genuine and can bounce back here. URENUI (3) resumes from a spell and was a big winner at the Foxton trials last month. She normally needs a run, but the small field will help. Watch closely. TOBIAS (2) will be peaking third up, and he did win his only start here. Don't risk him. CHASE (1) is very hard to catch but is another who is capable of producing a big run when his mind is on the job. SUGGESTED PLAY: Chantilly Lace deserves to win another race. |

GRACE HORNBY @ METCALFE REAL ESTATE 1400m
Keen tempo headed by Knock Off. TISSE (3) motored home too late as favourite fresh up at Trentham and had to settle for second place, just a short-head back from the winner. He has an extra 100m to travel this time and should set the record straight. BRIDAL TRAIN (4) is a stablemate of the top pick and the likely main threat to that runner. She resumed with a solid effort fresh up at Te Rapa 4 weeks ago and is usually better with a run under her belt. Each way claims this time. KNOCK OFF (5) was heavily backed fresh up at Whanganui 4 weeks ago and delivered the goods with a powerful win by a length. He won his maiden here, and with 2.5kg less to carry this time, he could take the next step immediately. FOOTLOOSE (8) is a handy winter performer resuming from a spell. He won the latest of 2 trials and will be ready to rumble fresh up. Watch for any positive market moves. VIBRATION (7) overcame a wide draw to lead all the way at Otaki last time out. He is a very progressive gelding who is right in this. Go again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Tisse to win in a very competitive contest. |

AMANDA SPICE @ METCALFE REAL ESTATE 1400m
Plenty of pressure primarily from Keeping Time, Snipsnap and Blue Rata Warea. I DON'T (4) should continue a good day for the Alan Sharrock stable. She was game in defeat at New Plymouth just over a month ago when finishing runner-up and will now be seasoned enough to cope with what is likely to be a very testing track here. On top. JUST A TIPPLE (1) has fought on gamely in his last couple of starts further North, and he did win his only start here. He will be fully fit now and ready to show some decent form again. EXPLOSIVE IMPACT (6) ended her last prep with a maiden win here nearly a year ago. She is bred to improve with more racing, and a recent trial at Foxton will ensure that she is ready to rumble fresh up. A market watch is advised. BRUNO (5) has had a freshen up since failing to fire at Waverley in April. He was close up in a recent trial and is probably worth including in all combinations to be safe. HORONUKU (2) won at BM60 level in his penultimate start but was not so good at New Plymouth just over a month ago. He has place claims in this. SUGGESTED PLAY: I Don't should go close to taking this out. |

STEELY STEELY MAKE ME SQUEALY 2100m
Strong tempo from Leprekhan off the inside, joined by Madam Pele and Come To Terms. DRESSE' PAR JOLI (3) lifted strongly when winning by half a length two runs back at Wanganui. She is rock hard fit and is another from the Alan Sharrock stable that will be hard to hold out. KING KHAN (1) has not been running too badly at all so far this time in. He holds his form when fit and has each-way claims again. MISTER PUCCI (2) ran a much better race at Pukekohe 17 days ago over a mile when finishing fourth. He is getting ready for a jumping career and is in the right race this time. He shouldn’t be far away. JAMAICAN BOY (5) has been in the market at his last couple of starts but hasn't made an impression, last start running fifth at New Plymouth Raceway. Stick with him. KEEN ON BUBBLES (4) struggled under her big weight in an amateur riders' race last start at Trentham and was a big winner in this grade at New Plymouth before that. She is worth another chance here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dresse' Par Joli should be the one to beat, with Keen On Bubbles a chance at longer odds. |
