Has the right profile to double his win tally in this far easier contest. JUSTIN GULF (1) debuted with a win two runs ago. Couldn't follow that up last time out when seventh over 2200m at Chukyo, beaten 6 lengths. Anticipating a better run this time. Grade 2 placegetter NAMURA HOOKER (4) finished 1.5 lengths from the winner in fourth last start over 2000m at Fukushima, an improvement on his seventh at this track the run before. Likely improver with strong prospects. MONDAINE (7) is back from a spell of ten weeks. Closed last prep as a winner, taking out a 1800m contest at Kokura by a neck. Solid top-three hope.
