The speedy trio Lt Alexander, The Charioteer and Masked Vigilante can set the pace from the outset. MASKED VIGILANTE (3) ran a decent race in his local debut over 1000m on the turf. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was encouraging. He would have come on from the run and he should like the rise to 1400m. If suited to the polytrack should prove hard to beat. CHARLIE MALONE (6) should have won his last start as he was held up for a run at the 300m mark. He has drawn pole position and rates well as an each-way chance. THE CHARIOTEER (2) was not disgraced when finishing third against stronger company over 1600m last time. He drops back in class and with Luyolo Mxothwa back in the saddle should be hard to roll. FUJISAN (5) has fair recent form lines to his name. The manner in which he has been finishing off his races suggests that he will enjoy the drop to 1400m. With a bit of luck in the running can finish in the placings.
