GOING: G

Melbourne Civil Group BM70 Handicap 2025m

Track: GOOD 4   Clouds (Max: 17)   Rail: TRUE 1600m - 1000m. Out 3m Remainder. (Pent: 5.28).

The speedy Wetakemanhattan should find the front with Nassak Diamond and Berkshire Breeze on his heels. Ciaron Maher's UK import BERKSHIRE BREEZE (1) returned from a five-month spell in great order last start, hitting the lead in the lane only for Desperado to lunge late and score over this trip at Caulfield. Will undoubtedly go on to better races so this looks his for the taking. MAKBEEL (6) is in career-best form this prep, making it two wins from four when too strong in a Bm58 over this course and distance a fortnight ago. Meets a smart one this time but is sure to be competitive again. WETAKEMANHATTAN (5) is back from a four-month break. Opened last prep with an authoritative all-the-way win over this distance at Warrnambool. Will give backers a sight. LOOK SHARPISH (4) disappointed in open company at Wagga last time. Not as much depth to this race so she is a top-three chance. PEARL RAIN (2) is back from a 12-week lay-off. Has won 3/5 when resuming so don't take her lightly. SUGGESTED PLAY: Confident Berkshire Breeze can take this out.
