Solid tempo with several going forward headed by Coastal Strike. HYPEMAN (3) was backed off the map first-up over this course and distance a fortnight ago but just failed to arrive after looking to have every hope. Strips fitter and should get the job done this time. FUTATSU (7) has not appeared since failing as warm favourite on debut over 1454m at Kyneton in November. Surely has more to offer so give her another chance. ILLUMINANCE (8) has been to Cranbourne twice this prep and filled a placing on each visit, most recently three weeks back over this trip. Very fit and cannot be left out. AUSSIEAUSSIEAUSSIE (1) did a reasonable job on debut over 1000m here last time. Better placed out to this distance so watch for improvement. PRIDE OF PARIAH (5) showed ability in the two runs of his maiden campaign. Definite contender first-up from a 15-week absence. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hypeman will be short but should be winning.
