A slick tempo on the cards with Rose Pie and Vainqueur City battling for the lead ahead of Maile Lei and Peerless. MAILE LEI (10) is a progressive five-year-old entire who hasn't raced since finishing third at this track on August 8 which was the only run of that prep. Goes well when fresh including a win and two minor placings. Has a win and five minor placings at this journey from seven starts and is sure to go well. MEINER GLORIE (9) has progressed nicely in his last couple of runs. Finished third at this track two starts back then got the job done by 2 lengths last time out over 1200m at this track. Going up a level this time but he can win again. RYUNO MASAMUNE (11) won at this track and distance at his last outing three-and-a-half months ago. Makes plenty of appeal. FAIRYLAND (12) scored over this course and distance last time after racing on the speed then lifting to score by 1.5 lengths. Cannot be underestimated.
