Strong tempo assured with Global Eclipse and Blue Cowboy leading the way over Pennine Way. GLOBAL ECLIPSE (6) was turned over as favourite at Cranbourne first up over this trip but should strip much fitter from that. Last time in he looked very smart when sent out a single-figure chance in the G1 SA Derby, and with that run under the belt, he can roll along in front which will suit. PENNINE WAY (2) resumes. He was in consistent form at the end of last campaign, albeit over a bit further, but this is a good trip for him to kick off at. There's ability there for the lightly raced 6yo and he may have improved. MACEDON ROSE (10) wasn't beaten far when well backed last time at Ballarat. She should be peaking now and very hard to hold out. BLUE COWBOY (7) resumed with a tidy maiden win at Sale and is open to improvement while LIM'S SMYTHE (4) was much better last time and is worth keeping an eye on. SUGGESTED PLAY: Global Eclipse to win.
