ICY BLAST (2) resumes from a spell following a last start close-up fourth of 16 over 1200m at this track when sent out at long odds. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this course and distance. If not in need of the run he can notch up his second-career victory. TOUGH TERRAIN (7) stayed on well when finishing fourth over 1100m at this track last start after having won his previous start by a neck over 1000m at this track. Dropping back to 1000m today he should prove hard to beat. THE ABDICATOR (9) won well as the hot favourite last start over this course and distance. Racing well this prep and with Richard Fourie back in the saddle should be fighting out the finish. NORDIC CHIEF (6) won well here two starts back over 1200m, then finished a close-up fourth of 13 over today's distance at this track. Can place and should be included in exotic bets.
