Reasonable tempo with Minimal Design probably leading but a few others should keep her honest. JUWELIER (8) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest coming when third over 1700m at Sapporo Dirt. Awkwardly drawn and might need a little luck early. She is ideally placed at NAR level and can get the job done this time. RED REX (7) is a five-start maiden who finished fifth at his most recent appearance in a tougher field over 1600m at Chukyo. Finds a suitable assignment this time and is a great chance to run into the top 3. VIP PURE ACE (1) is very good on her day and improved sharply on her fifth two starts back at Nagoya with a win over 1400m at this track four weeks ago, getting home by 1.3 lengths after being in contention on the corner. Hard to beat again in this suitable race. MINIMAL DESIGN (6) resumes from a spell of ten weeks and is having her first outing under new trainer Kosaku Hori. She will find this level of racing more to her liking and a better run is expected. A market watch is advised.
