PEDDER HANDICAP 1650m Track: GOOD
Satirical Fan has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. I CAN (12) has been finishing off strongly from wide draws his past couple, but looks poised to strike now with a much better gate. He sustained a long run to be just 1.3L off a good winner here last start and won't find himself as far back in the run this time. Right down in the weights and can go one better. FIGHTING MACHINE (7) got the job done impressively in easier company last start, running on to score by 1L with Purton in the saddle. This is tougher, but he looks ready for the rise in distance now and Purton sticking is a positive sign. Can make his presence felt once again. SETANTA (8) tends to get back in his races, so he will need a touch of luck from an inside draw, though it's hard to knock what he's done thus far. He's racing in good order and he's bound to be coming home with a wet sail at the finish. STAR CONTACT (1) was too good here first-up and can be in the finish once again.
