Plenty of pace from Mike's Mazarin, The Mikado and Continentalexpress matching motors ahead of Red Mountain. ESCAPOLOGIST (3) stayed on strongly when fourth over this course and distance last time. She won her penultimate outing over the same course and distance. She is in a good space and from her good draw of three, she can notch up her seventh-career victory. CONTINENTALEXPRESS (4) should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung inwards over the final 300m. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this course and distance. He is having his peak run today and should be fighting out the finish. THE MIKADO (8) showed signs of needing his last start over 1950m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He will strip much fitter and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he would not be a shock winner. BASIE RAAKVAT (7) stayed on well when finishing fifth of 11 over 1750m last time. If finding the form of his penultimate run, he can return to form.
