Fast pace assured with Gimme's Captain, Approach Shot and King Of The Seas leading the charge. CONNERY (7) took the lead at the 300m mark last time, but was outrun late. He finished second of 13 in his penultimate effort over this course and distance. Overdue a winning turn and with Richard Fourie back in the saddle can take this race out. MANEKI NEKO (5) was well supported when finishing fourth last start in the same race as the above selection. If finding the form of his penultimate run when finishing second of nine should be involved in the finish. APPROACH SHOT (2) showed good speed over 1200m last time but found one too good on the day. He should have no issues with the drop to 1000m and jumping from an inside gate should be finishing in the money. RATTLESNAKE (4) looked well in need of his debut run last start which was against winners. He would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected can finish in the placings.
