Expecting Surprise Gift to take up the running with Natsu Hayate and Mega Million close at hand. NATSU HAYATE (7) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with just two wins from 37 starts. Was again denied last start when she found one better over 1400m at Kawasaki. Placed to advantage and can run a bold race. SURPRISE GIFT (11) will strip fitter for this after running below expectations first-up at this track, finishing eighth and beaten 6 lengths over 800m. Nicely placed to make amends. ORI'S GENIE (10) broke through for his maiden win last start by 6 lengths over 1300m at this track despite being unwanted in betting. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Drawn out a bit but he cannot be underestimated. SEKIREI OPERA (2) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1400m at this track, beaten 9 lengths into fifth. Likely improver with strong top-three prospects.
