Plenty of pace with Mieno Thunder and Riko Luger up front, pressured by Yushin Imon and Dora Ken. MIENO THUNDER (6) was leading on the turn and fought on to finish fifth over 1800m at this track at his latest appearance. Form here at this journey is very good. Keita Nishi who has five wins when partnering stays on. Will strip fitter and is one of the big chances. YUSHIN IMON (9) finds it hard to win with two victories from 35 starts. Did a good job last start to finish second over 1600m at this track, beaten 1.75 lengths. Must raise the bar but this looks well within his grasp. RIKO LUGER (8) did a good job last start to finish second at this track over 1400m, beaten one length. Should be at his peak now. Is going well this campaign, recording a win and two minor placings from four starts. Should be involved in the finish. ORTHO SLUGGER (4) was racing well without winning, finishing in the money on two consecutive occasions, before finishing fourth last time out over 1800m at this track. Ryuji Tatsushiro who has scored on him five times retains the mount. Must be respected.
