MACH ENERGY COUNTRY BOOSTED 3YO & UP MAIDEN PLATE 900m
Little in the way of pace with no noted leaders on paper. FLIRTATION (7) produced a solid effort on debut when she stalked the speed in tougher company for a narrow second over 1000m at Scone. Can overcome the awkward draw and put these away. LINDA'S PRINCESS (8) resuming and assess on her good second over 1350m at Beaumont Newcastle last December. Ran fifth in a recent 1000m trial here. Likely to get back early and savage the line. Each way. SUPIDO STAR (11) sharp improver second-up when she motored late for a close-up second over 1000m at Quirindi. Ready to peak and adept in all conditions. BEES KNEES (5) Super One filly out of Mojito on debut for the Wayne Wilkes yard. Finished third here in a 800m trial. Keep safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Flirtation is expected to go one better today. |

GREG CRIBB MEMORIAL RED CROWN 2YO HANDICAP 900m
Anticipating a good amount of early pressure with many of these babies facing the starter for the first time. SAMBUCA SKY (10) handy filly resuming. Showed good early speed on debut when third over 900m at Scone last January. Back with the two slick trial wins and will prove hard to stop despite drawing out. TIGRIS POWER (12) Tiger Of Malay filly from Power Of Wexford on debut for the Kris Lees yard. Has shown enough in her two trials to suggest she can take a hand in the finish. OLE STEELE (9) made her debut in a very strong contest with a fading twelfth over 1100m in the LR Woodlands Stakes at Scone two weeks ago. Can improve sharply here and relish the conditions. THE BREAKERS (3) was no match for an impressive maiden winner at Newcastle but still stuck on gamely to hold third. Better for that and is worth respecting. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sambuca Sky can shed her maiden tag first-up. |

THE REMINGTON SUPER MAIDEN HANDICAP 1300m
Solid tempo with Mega Pixel possessing enough dash to find the front. MOANA GOLD (12) returns from a let-up. Did a few things wrong last start but still managed to finish fourth over 1350m at Wyong. Visors go on and due for a change of luck. MOSSROCKET (13) two runs have only been fair on the provincial circuit and must be kept safe from the good gate. Suspect they are more proactive today. THE PROSPECT (6) returns for the Dilmi camp and comes right into calculations after some key scratchings. Strips fitter for two trials, where he's looked improved. MEGA PIXEL (4) never looked likely fresh when always back in the ruck. Showed promising signs in debut prep, so willing to forgive. Bullock's booking signals confidence. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Moana Gold. |

HUNTER RIVER STAYERS CUP BENCHMARK 74 HANDICAP 2200m
Damascus Gate should find the front with Aussie Nation and Nature Boy on his heels. SPACETIME LEGEND (8) rewarded for his consistency last start with a dominant Maiden win in C1 class over 2200m at Newcastle in the heavy (9) going. Will relish the rain affected track and can win again. DAMASCUS GATE (6) stretches out to this trip for the first time after shouldering the 58kg with a sound on-pace sixth over 1500m at this track. Gets in light with the claim and worth noting four of his wins have come on heavy tracks. Each way. AUSSIE NATION (1) in career best form and doesn't have to improve much to win this. Nailed late in the testing conditions when second over 2100m at Hawkesbury in BM64 grade. Holds a forward position and has genuine top-three claims. SCOTTISH PEARL (2) near her top for this and brings the right form here. Finished a narrow fourth to Thebudgiesmugla over 2400m in BM78 grade at Rosehill last November. Respect. SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 8,6,1,2. |

SHORTY CRIBB ABERDEEN CUP BENCHMARK 82 HANDICAP 1300m
Reasonable tempo with Ollie's Secret probably leading but a few others should keep him honest. HULU (2) consistent mare with excellent credentials over this course and distance. Cruised across from the outside gate and showed a ton of grit when third over 1400m at Scone in the Country Cup. Can sit off the good tempo today and put these away. HELLCIBELL (5) fitter after three runs back and looking for this trip now. Beaten for speed and got well out of her ground when chipping away late to run fifth over 1000m at Gunnedah. Can race closer today and finish much closer. KING LARRY (6) talented gelding trained locally. Deep into the prep and will appreciate the 4kg drop in weight after gripping on to run second over 1200m at Quirindi. No shock to see him take this out. RHYTHM IS A DANCER (1) handy fresh gelding who resumes from a lengthy break. Back without a trial and look for him late with the claim. PLAY MY SONG (4) capable on her day and can run into the minor money. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hulu can overcome the sticky gate. |

SNOWDEN RACING BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP 1000m
Strong tempo assured with Detain, Shoutaboutit and Manwe rolling to the front. SOLAR BLAST (8) was a month between runs with a below par sixth over 1000m at this track. Fitter now and can bounce back quickly. ATHENA'S TREASURE (2) returns from a spell. Made up many lengths late from back in the field with a slashing sixth over 1400m at Scone in the Northern Wild Card. Fitted with a sharp trial win over 1000m at Gosford. Has the ability to put these away. SHOUTABOUTIT (11) has a stack of gear changes today and assess on her good recent efforts on the provincial tracks. Back in trip and will need a good ride from the draw. Place best. IT STAYS IN VEGAS (6) was only sighted once last prep and was a dominant winner at Gunnedah. Keeping onside fresh. SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 8,2,11,6. |

PURSEHOUSE RURAL COUNTRY BOOSTED CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1400m
Parfumier should have enough pace to lead a low-pressure contest. DUNSTALL THE GUN (7) on the quick back-up when he raced closer from the good gate to finish third over 1520m at Inverell. Ready to peak today and expected to go close despite drawing out. SMART BUY (4) comes out of a strong contest second-up after running on late to finish seventh over 1300m at Scone. Proven at the trip and will appreciate the rain affected conditions. ARAPAWA (5) deep into the campaign and he gives the impression this trip will suit. Savaged the line with an unlucky second over 1250m at Gunnedah. Saves his best for this course and can overcome the draw. PARFUMIER (9) looks to get a soft lead again after ploughing through the heavy going and scoring in a tight finish over 1412m at Taree. Sure to be thereabouts. MAGGIE SPARKLES (13) will find this more to her liking and has good wet track credentials. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dunstall The Gun looks set to peak. |
