Ladbrokes Owners Promotion Maiden 1650m
Moderate pace with Cold Aza Beer taking up the running ahead of Awesome Orphan and Light Work. COLD AZA BEER (2) made his Tassie debut trying to lead throughout in a tougher event at Hobart and was run over late. This easier and small field suits. Much better draw and will take catching. LIGHT WORK (5) has been bursting to win finishing runner-up last few runs. Beaten just a neck last time here making it two minors from three tries this circuit. First attempt at the mile but close to a win and will go close. CALLED THROUGH (1) ran in the same race as Cold Aza Beer last time and steamed home from the back to finish fifth. This easier and will be winding up strongly. VOSTOK STATION (3) was poor fresh but thereabouts last time and can do better again third-up. AWESOME ORPHAN (4) wasn't far away latest just behind Light Work and is among the chances. SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Cold Aza Beer. |

Goodstone Group Maiden 1150m
Houlihan is the likely leader at a strong tempo. COLONEL BOGEY (2) resumes from a long break but has placed 3/6 and has the figures to break through. Fitter for a trial and expected to go close. COOL AS YOU (3) is the clear danger if runs up to fresh-up effort. Got back and turned there but flashed home late to just miss. Big run and will go close with a repeat. That pair looks head and shoulders above the rest. LUCKY COUNTRY (7) finished a close-up third last time and has upside. One of the chances on best. NICALBI (8) is fitter for two runs back and gets chance to improve while GUBER (4) is also third-up and won't be far away. All four career placings have been here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Colonel Bogey should run well fresh. |

Kevin Sharkie Class 4 Hcp 1150m
Volkanovski, Blameitontheboogie and Get 'Em Warrior can set a strong tempo. Hard to go past BLAMEITONTHEBOOGIE (1). Wasn't the best away but quickly secured the box seat then stride right away in a track gallop this course distance and class last time. Can only be fitter again. Cody Jodi has been aboard every start which now reads three wins and four minors from seven runs. The benchmark. RUNAWAY STATEMENT (5) resumes off a long break and presents fitter for two trials. Has won fresh and looks the danger. GARCON D'ESPOIR (2) didn't make an impact at his last run before going for a spell on January 7, finishing 11th and beaten 7 lengths over 1880m at this track. Definite top-three chance. PLATINUM REGGAE (8) is going well and was no match for the favourite last time but can sneak into the finish again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Blameitontheboogie clearly on top. |

Kireina Marubrah has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. ALPINE BLAST (8) is going better than recent form suggests. Almost all career wins have been on the all weather here and last start got home hard over 1650m. Come back in journey but will be tough to stop late. SIMPLY DEEP (3) tackled the same race as Alpine Blast last time and beat him home. Going well and also looks hard to beat with any luck from the wide gate. STAR FORTIAN (10) is another going better than form suggests and best form has been on the synthetic. Ready to win and gets chance. STAR TERRITORY (4) wound up strongly here last time and rates a top chance this line-up. STARDARMUS (5) was runner-up here last time and among the chances again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Alpine Blast could be value. |

Peppermint Parties Class 1 Hcp 1350m
Solid tempo with Waltzing Matilda to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. TOO MUCH TOO SOON (7) is a former Victorian going well for the new yard including a win two back. Went back from a wide gate last time and made some late ground but never threatened. First try on the all weather and gets chance to bounce back. TIKKEN (2) is also a former Victorian who made Tassie debut with a win on this circuit then was fifth and not far away last time. Fitter again and expected to go close over the longer journey. KNIGHTS REIGN (4) stuck on well last start to finish second over 1650m at this track after showing good early speed. Aided by the claim and will give a sight. OCCASIONAL GLIMPSE (9) is coming along nicely this prep, scoring his maiden this course and distance last time. Well placed to feature in the finish again. I'M A MACHINE (3) is another racing well and worth including. SUGGESTED PLAY: Too Much Too Soon can atone. |

Stall Gate Kiosk Class 1 Hcp 1009m
Plenty of pace with Gladding and Dina Tycoon leading from Party Day. Plenty of win chances. PARTY DAY (6) is a progressive type in great form and looks hard to beat again. Just missed fresh then stalked the leader and drew clear late when off the mark here last time. At peak and expected to measure up. CELTIC ROSE (7) resumes without a trial and has placed fresh. Best figures measure right up and has run well here. Drawn for a soft run and will explode late. DINA TYCOON (5) is a former Victorian who has shown good speed lately and looks well placed here with the light weight. Take catching. MEL'S STREET ABOVE (10) is much better than last start. Blinkers on and has since won a trial by a space. Well worth another chance. WILD NIGHTS (11) has ability and looks one of the chances. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stick with Party Day. |

Anticipating a genuine tempo over the 1009m journey. MISS KEEDS (8) did a great job to score by a long neck over this course and distance last start. Up in grade but plummets in the weights after the claim and expected to measure up again. CHEROKEE DANCER (1) hasn't raced since a win at Launceston over 1120m six-and-a-half weeks ago. Kept ticking over with a recent trial at Longford. Well placed this grade and looks hard to beat again. BOLD INSTINCT (5) was well off best over 1150m at this track last time out. Winning rider back aboard and best figures measure up. THOROS OF MYR (3) ran a much improved race second-up when placed here last time. Likely improver with winning claims. THE LONGEST YARD (4) might find this a shade sharp fresh but will wind up late and can sneak into the finish at odds. SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow in on Miss Keeds. |

Lending 4 U BM60 Hcp 1880m
Always A Winner and Toganmain will settle forward and can set a moderate tempo. All the chances come through the same race behind Thin Red Line and at the weights he can beat them again. THIN RED LINE (5) led virtually throughout and scored here in this grade over 1650m. Best form is on the synthetic and aided by the claim. Looks hard to beat again. SKELMORLIE (3) was in the same race and finished seventh. Winning rider back aboard and hard to beat on her best form. SCARLETTI (2) kept coming also in the same race behind Thin Red Line. Extra trip suits and gets chance to turn the tables. Another from the same race was ALWAYS A WINNER (1) who finished fifth, beaten a couple of lengths. Still a maiden this circuit but rarely far away and worth including. ALPINE TROUT (4) has also had a lot of tries here without a win but better last time beaten just a length in the same race finishing runner-up and worth including. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Thin Red Line. |
