GRAND CASINO 820m
Good speed anticipated with a large contingent of first starters lining up. DOUBTABLE (3) makes her debut for the powerful Terri Rae stable, and she has shown enough at the trials to suggest she can make an immediate impact. She has enough early pace to use her good draw, and she goes on top for us. THE GRADUATE (1) resumes after a decent spell, and her most recent of 3 tune-up trials was her best, scoring comfortably under her own steam. A good gate and a 2kg claim make her hard to beat fresh. FOUR SOME (4) is a first starter by Satono Aladdin from the Kelvin Tyler yard, and any market confidence would be worth following. If she is not too green, then she can make a positive start to her career. TIVANOVA (2) returns from a spell after a couple of well-spaced runs in her first campaign, and she appears to have come back well, judging by a solid recent trial. Open to improvement, and she must be respected fresh. POCKET CHANGE (5) will be suited by the small field for her debut, and having Tina Comignaghi in the saddle is a plus. Use the market as a guide. SUGGESTED PLAY: Doubtable can win on debut. |

NZB MEGA MAIDEN 1300m
Looks a keen contest with Dubonnet Rouge and Unshackled pressing for the lead with Salacia Princess and Archie Guy close at hand. EXCLUDE (2) made a promising start to his career when finishing a close third on debut over 1200m at this track. Some natural improvement from that debut effort should see him right in the finish again, and he goes on top for us. BYTHESEA (8) also caught the eye when making her debut at Ascot Park, chasing gamely for second over 1200m 3 weeks ago. She is open to plenty of improvement with that race experience now under her belt, and with some luck from her wide draw, she can go one better. DUBONNET ROUGE (7) has been around the mark in recent runs, and she gets the blinkers applied for the first time. Her stable has a good record when trekking their team to this track, and she can bounce straight back into the money here. SURPRISE INSIDE (13) was never fully in the contest after settling well back last time out at Ascot Park on a track that was just too testing for her. She will be even fitter third up, and she can figure in the top 4. LETHAL ROC (9) is an each-way hope at value. SUGGESTED PLAY: Exclude can win this. |

OTAGO RACING CLUB MEMBERS DAY 28TH JUNE 1300m
Solid tempo anticipated with Aspen Voltage and The Blackadder leading the way. TAIHORO (1) has been thereabouts this prep, and he looks well placed on this track to break through after finishing a game fourth at Riverton last time out. Tina Comignaghi takes the ride in a positive jockey change, and he can get the job done this time. THE BLACKADDER (3) showed clear improvement second-up when racing on speed and sticking on fairly for sixth over 1200m here. He carries 3kg less this time, thanks to a claim, and he can figure in the top 4 here. NASHA MALA (10) ran a far better race at her latest outing when running third at Ascot Park over 1200m. She may try to lead this field, and she could take them all the way. ASPEN VOLTAGE (8) struggled in the testing ground over 1600m at Riverton last time out, and she is better off over the shorter trips for now. She cops a wide gate, but she is worth another chance. CRACKBONES (2) has relocated from the North Island after his last start fourth at Arawa Park nearly 6 weeks ago. Respect the market moves. SUGGESTED PLAY: Nasha Mala at each-way value, and watch Crackbones. |

KB CONTRACTORS 1200m
Deciphering Me, Full Cream and Grove Street can set a strong tempo. GLACIAL STORM (10) showed talent when trained in the North Island, and she is now with a new local stable. Tina Comignaghi picks up the ride, which is a strong lead, and she is sure to attract plenty of attention in the market. LITTERAL (11) is another ex-North Island-trained runner who returns for a new trainer after failing to fire at Tauranga before heading to the paddock. She is stronger now, and from the pole position, she will be ready to rumble fresh up. UNDISPUTED (1) made a huge statement first-up when demolishing his maiden rivals by six lengths at Ascot Park over 1200m when making his South Island debut. He can take the next step immediately. GROVE STREET (3) has been racing recently at Riccarton, and his form was better before that in this area. He has a good gate and is worth including in all combinations. DECIPHERING ME (8) resumed with a fast finishing second at Riverton just over 3 weeks ago, and she has top 4 claims again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Either Glacial Storm or Litteral can win this, and Undisputed won't be far away. |

OTAGO ENGINEERING 1200m
Strong tempo primarily from Charm Manhattan, American Cheval and Claudius Maximuss over Shamel Express and Bakers Dozen. AIRPARK HUSTLER (3) battled on fairly well at Riccarton Park last start after settling well back, and his form this prep has been a mixed bag. Dropping back to 1200m on a heavy track could be the key, and from a handy draw, he can take this out. FRENCH DOLL (8) has relocated from the North Island, and she resumes for a new stable. She is nicely placed after a kilo claim, and she will find the company down here more to her liking. Hard to beat, and follow the money. BAKERS DOZEN (7) is racing in terrific heart, backing up with another narrow victory at this track and trip to make it 2 straight wins. There is more depth to this field, but she is as tough as nails, and the hat-trick beckons. PETE’S PRIDE (1) showed improvement last time at Riccarton Park when finishing sixth in a decent field. He has winning form on this track, and even from a wide gate, he would not be a shock winner. SHAMEL EXPRESS (11) resumes from a spell, and gets in with a light weight. Don't risk him. Can win. SUGGESTED PLAY: French Doll and Shamel Express at each-way value in an even field. |

PROPERTY BROKERS RAY KEAN 1400m
From the inside gate Bodleian should be prominent along with Lady Bankside. BODLEIAN (1) has been racing well since winning fresh up at Ascot Park in January, and he has the right draw to make his own luck early on. He benefits from a 3kg claim, and he will take some pegging back. MAWKEB (7) needed her first run back from a spell, and she slips back into a more suitable grade for this. She usually improves with racing, and she will finish a lot closer this time. Each way. LIFE OF RILEY (10) caught the eye with a big late finish at Riccarton just over 5 weeks ago when finishing sixth. She likes it wet, and she should go close to taking this out. WAY OUT WEST (14) led all the way when cruising home to win her South Island debut here. She has been given time to get over that run, and there is no reason why she can't take the next step immediately. LADY MELL (13) is a local mare who won her maiden here impressively, and she will be looking to make her run late and wide again in this. Stick with her on an each-way basis. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mawkeb each way in another very even field. |

MORE FM 1400m
Strong tempo assured from Rochello and Sir Sterling leading the charge. BETTY SPAGHETTI (5) has been battling this year in some good fields, and she should notice the drop down in class here. This is her pet trip, and a wet track is no problem. She is nicely weighted after a 3kg claim, and she is set to break her win drought here. MARTELL (2) has been very disappointing in all 3 starts this prep, and he may have needed all of those runs to get fit. He steps up 200m, and he can make amends. ROCHELLO (7) can't be faulted this prep, and he won for the first time over this trip 3 starts back, when leading all the way. Her track record is very modest, and she can upgrade those stats here. HE'S TUNZA GRUNT (6) was put aside after a couple of poor runs in the spring, and his form is all on wet tracks anyway. He might need the run, but he is still worth including in all top 4 combos to be safe. THE HANGOVER (8) found the right race and got the job done at Ascot Park 3 weeks ago. This is tougher, but after a 2kg claim, he is nicely placed to figure in the finish. SUGGESTED PLAY: Betty Spaghetti can win this. |

POSITIVE SIGNS + PRINT 1600m
O'riordan to take charge ahead of Where's Wally at a good tempo. THE BOSS LADY (11) resumes from a spell, and she won her only start last prep at Riccarton in February. She has looked in good order with two trial placings leading into this assignment, and Jamie Bullard would only have trekked this far to start her only if he was very confident. On top. SIGHT TO SEE (2) continues to race consistently, and she was not far away again at Ascot Park 3 weeks ago when charging home from the rear for third over 1600m. She likes it wet, and with a kilo less to carry, she could have the last say. O’RIORDAN (8) is a tough mare who produced a career-best effort when scoring over 1800m at Riccarton last time out. She puts herself in the right place early on, and she will again prove tough to get past. Stick with her. MAMAEA (13) stormed over the top of her rivals from the tail of the field to score impressively at Riverton last start, and with the rise in class, she will drop 3kg after the claim. Each way claims again. MR BULLY TEE (3) has top 4 claims as well. SUGGESTED PLAY: The Boss Lady can win fresh, and Mr Bully Tee at each-way value. |

SPEIGHT'S 1600m
They look to roll along early with Wild Jakkal and Strobe Light leading the charge. MOOR (14) is a locally trained mare who impressed with a strong closing effort when charging into second over 1400m at this track nearly 5 weeks ago. The rise in trip looks ideal, and with 2.5kg less to carry, she could have the last say this time. PROUDTOBEHERE (11) produced an eye-catching finish from the tail to score stylishly over 1600m here at her latest appearance. She has progressed nicely this prep, and her stable has run into some good recent form. Stick with her. DAVID MOSS (4) tried hard and was not far away at Riverton despite finishing seventh, and his overall form this prep has been heading the right way. He only needs the gaps to come at the right time to be a big winning threat in this. KING PALM (1) did not fire fresh at Riccarton Park, and there was no money for him, which suggests he was there just to get fit. He benefits from a 3kg claim, and he is expected to finish a lot closer here. Each way. SACRED MIST (10) broke her win drought last start. Include again. SUGGESTED PLAY: David Moss will be hard to beat, and watch the money for King Palm. |

AB LIME & HYDE LANDSCAPING WAIRIO CUP 2200m
Genuine tempo with Peecee Pussycat, Maximus Augustus and Taimate Diva taking up forward positions. IMPERATIVE (10) was below her best at Riccarton last start over 2600m and may be better being kept to this sort of distance range. She faces open company here, but will drop 2kg, and with Terry Moseley in the irons for the first time, she is worth another chance. PRINCE ALBY (3) got back and was held up for a while before running on into third at Ascot Park. His win prior signalled that he is back to his best, and that is good enough for him to win this. MISS ENZED (9) battled away fairly well on the synthetic surface last time at Riccarton, but her turf form is stronger. Both of her placings on this course have been over this trip, and she can figure in the top 3. RIVIERA REBEL (1) struggled in the G3 Canterbury Gold Cup last start on ground that was too firm for him, but this is a far more suitable contest, and from the pole position, he may try to take them all the way. A MANDARIN (5) capped off some improving form with a game nose win at Ascot Park 6 weeks ago. Stick with her. SUGGESTED PLAY: Riviera Rebel each way. |

BE MY GUEST DESIGN 2200m
Lovelock is the likely leader and should be able to get there comfortably. O'CEIRINS BELLE (8) relocated to the South Island, and she resumed in good style when charging home from the rear to finish third over 1600m at this track. She strips fitter second-up and looks ideally placed to go very close with a similar finish. QUINTO (5) never really got into the race at Riccarton last start after settling back, but his prior win over this trip at Ashburton was very good when scoring by a nose. He has Corey Campbell back in the saddle, and he can make amends on his home track. TAVI ANN (4) has not had much luck, and even though she was out of the money, she was not beaten far at Riccarton last time out, nearly a month ago. She slides down in class, and a form reversal is on the cards. FLAMBOYANCE (1) found the line only fairly on the synthetic surface last start, and he will be at his peak fitness for this easier assignment. He has won his only start here, and he is expected to finish a lot closer this time. Each way. LOVELOCK (3) likes it wet. Stick with him. SUGGESTED PLAY: Tavi Ann each way value. |
