NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:00 GMCU Maiden Plate 1200m
All runners lining up for the first time so expect them to go keenly. Tricky race with a few likely chances on debut. NAVAL COMMAND (4) is a nicely bred colt by top sire Home Affairs out of Sea Siren who was a multiple G1 winner. He kicks off under the care of Mark Walker and has jumped out well enough to be going close here. ACHY BREAKY HEART (1) is a gelding by Nicconi on debut for the Payne yard who won his latest trial at Caulfield Heath. He can put his best foot forward. PIAZZA (13) is a well-bred gelding by So You Think out of Missy Cummings, making him related to G1 winner Mizzy and good mare She's Got Pizzazz. He's jumped out well for the Price & Kent Jnr yard, respecting. TAGLOW (12) is a filly by Tagaloa for the Busuttin & Young stable who has also jumped out nicely, watch the betting.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Naval Command.

Expecting a genuine tempo. BLUE SHIELD (1) looks well placed off an encouraging debut at Geelong, right in the market there when showing speed before just fading late to be beaten 0.6 lengths. He'll be better for that and should take plenty of catching around here from the low gate. BULL RUN (2) resumes, making his local debut. He was well beaten into second at Salisbury in the UK on debut a year ago and may find this too sharp but has jumped out okay, respect the Waller polish. THE QUIET IMMORTAL (6) resumes having shown ability last time in, he'll be running on. PADDYPIE (4) is a gelding by Magnus on debut for the Payne yard who has trialled up nicely and looks set to run a good race. PRAVAHA (9) can be an improver second time around having been well backed on debut before a spell.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Blue Shield to win.
3 02:00 Hunters Maiden Plate 1600m
Moderate tempo with Her Legacy leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. Sticking with KIWI JENNI (7) who was beaten as a very short priced favourite on resumption at Geelong, working home for third at $1.45. Tipping she'll improve off that and look for her to settle closer here second up. DR DAVINCI (2) has raced twice to date, making nice improvement at Sale last time out to 1400m when third in a decent maiden. Up in trip again should suit, he'll be very hard to hold out. WHO'LLSTOPLORRAINE (10) was too bad to be true at Sale with issues last time, the run prior has her as some hope and she can certainly challenge for a top three spot. I BELIEVE I BELONG (5) ran a sound race first up at Wangaratta despite being beaten eight lengths and should be fitter with minor claims.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Kiwi Jenni to win.
4 02:30 Seymour Equine Clinic Maiden Plate 2040m
Solid tempo anticipated with Kissattack and Untethered Soul pressing forward with Convaaya not far away. DEAL DONE FAST (4) is a tricky runner. He's incredibly well placed back to maiden grade but is wearing thin. He was well beaten as favourite in the Vrc St Leger over 2800m last time having run fairly well in the G1 ATC Derby prior. He's a real grinding type, not sure back in trip suits but on form he's well and truly clear. SASTERION (7) is knocking on the door, beaten a neck last time at Ballarat over 2600m. He's another coming back in trip but he draws well. KISSATTACK (11) has raced twice to date, sticking on fairly out to this trip at Mornington. She can improve again. PRONOUNCED (16) is another with the scope to improve third up after getting into a tricky spot last time.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Deal Done Fast on top.
5 03:00 Ray White Seymour BM62 Handicap 1200m
A solid tempo anticipated with Got Out The Fence and Gangster Paradise ahead of Cobblestone Way and Ollandia Beach. This has taken a bit of a hit and leaves us with PROVEN SOUL (11) on top. She was okay fresh on firm going at Ballarat, off a long break there and boxing on for a narrow sixth. She should improve off that and looks a genuine hope. COBBLESTONE WAY (5) won well first up in a BM56 at Kilmore, coming right away late to suggest he'd come back better than ever. Look for him to go on with it in another winnable affair. HIDDEN BAY (9) is a lightly raced type building a nice record, far too strong in a BM56 over this track and distance last start. He can handle the class rise no problems. OLLANDIA BEACH (1) was good here fresh in a similar race and will take catching with the added fitness.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Proven Soul.
6 03:30 Avenel Equine Hospital 0 - 62 Handicap 1000m
Plenty of pace from Harford, Gunz and Yuuki matching motors ahead of Raging Monkey. YUUKI (5) was heavily supported and got the job done last start at Swan Hill to break the maiden at $1.30, showing a neat little turn of foot late. She'd been knocking on the door for a while and can go on with it now in another suitable affair. GUNZ (1) also won his maiden at Swan Hill as favourite but did it two back, good in a much stronger race at Bendigo last time with 52kg. He's a speedy type who will roll forward and take plenty of catching. CAVERN (3) ran a solid race first up despite being beaten, sticking on for a narrow third. Expect improvement now, he'll be hard to hold out. JUMPIN' JEWELLETTE (6) won her maiden narrowly here before a let-up and could be one to go on with it while HARFORD (2) just lasted fresh and will be fitter.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Yuuki to win.
7 04:00 Tallarook Sheds BM62 Handicap 1425m
Slick tempo with Rosie's Prophecy to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. CENSORI (4) looks a nice chance. She was well beaten fresh at Geelong in a Class 1 but that looks a stronger race and she reportedly felt the firm ground there having won well on debut in town at Sandown Lakeside. She should improve quickly here and can do much better. MAHMUDAH (8) is off a solid maiden win as a $1.75 favourite here last time out, sitting on speed and dashing best to score by 0.8 lengths. She'll roll forward and give a sight. Wary of BREAK THE TABOO (10) who won dominantly last time at Ararat in a 0-56, scoring by four lengths. She'd been going well prior and can measure up. THUNDER HAWK (6) is knocking on the door with back to back runner up finishes and should be right there again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Censori to win.
8 04:30 Annabelle Cleeland Member for Euroa 0 - 62 Handicap 1600m
Plenty of pace with Teddy Boy and Pharoah's Daughter leading from Square Deal. Siding with GEESEVEN (2) who presents third-up off a narrow maiden win at Pakenham last time, sent out the $1.80 favourite and just doing enough to score, finding the line strongly over 1400m. He's a promising horse who should relish the rise to a mile and draws nicely for the in-form Billy Egan. WINGS OF CARMEN (6) can mix his form but is another way down in grade out of the Wagga Cup. He can figure in the finish. PHAROAH'S DAUGHTER (11) won well at Wangaratta last time in a 0-56 after riding the speed. She doesn't win out of turn but gets a nice map here and can run another honest race. TORN (4) couldn't get into the race at Pakenham last start but his prior form in town is rock solid for this and he can be running on if the tempo suits.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Geeseven.
