NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:00 BARRIER REEF POOLS QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1100m
Ever So Ready and Warrego River can be prominent. The babies kick us off. PRIVATE MAX (7) wasn't too far away at the Sunny Coast when facing the starter for the first time and will have derived a stack of benefit from that race day experience. Gets in well at the weights with the 2kg claim and rates the testing material. EVER SO READY (3) will be at peak fitness for this contest and only needs some luck from the sticky draw to be playing a major role in the finish. ADORA DJON'S (12) showed enough in her initial campaign to warrant serious consideration for a race of this nature. Respect any market push. PAC FAIR (15) has shown ability at the trials and draws favourably in gate two. Should be kept safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Private Max each-way.
2 12:35 GREAT NORTHERN BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1980m
Just a moderate tempo headed by Weona Redwood, Trump Card and Kalkanli. TRUMP CARD (2) has a handy record around this circuit with a win and four placings from seven spins and will be rock-hard fit for this. Gets 1.5kg off with the claim and maps ideally from gate three. Ready to win and must be respected out of the Vandyke yard. WEONA REDWOOD (1) is another to get some weight relief and only needs some luck navigating from the sticky draw to be featuring in the finish. Include in calculations. WHATJEUDOIN' (5) has placed two of three over this staying trip and looks a must for the multiples. The well-related KERKORIAN (4) (full to G2 winner Plenty Of Ammo) next in line in a race decimated by scratchings.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Trump Card.
3 01:10 TAB Maiden Plate 1690m
Not much early pressure but Sorutal, Gratification and Speegle can take up forward spots. ABLESHEEBA (3) has gotten better with each run this time in work and looks to be building up to a maiden victory. Gets a jockey upgrade in the form of Thompson in the irons and should be right there when it gets serious. KALAMIA KING (2) gets 3kg off with the claim and will be ready to peak now third run back from a spell. Sure to take a ton of beating. SPEEGLE (9) hit the frame over this track and trip last time out and Baker sticks in the saddle. Top-three credentials on the latest effort. GRATIFICATION (1) has had a few chances but has been thereabouts of late and may trouble the judge with any luck from the wide draw.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Ablesheeba to shed the maiden tag.
4 01:45 FERTPRO QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1690m
Looks a keen contest with Bon Vader and Dust Cloud pressing for the lead with Under Arrest and Five Of Us close at hand. BON VADER (2) has been knocking on the door of a maiden victory with consecutive runner-up finishes this time in work and this is not an overly strong affair. Gets the reliable Vandyke/Maloney combination and should be right there when the judge calls a halt. UNDER ARREST (9) has placed two of three around this circuit and will be at peak fitness for this. Well placed to play a major role. HOPEFUL CAUSE (5) faces the starter for the first time but looked handy in a recent trial and won't need to be a superstar to be competitive against this lot. In the mix on debut. PARADISE AS USUAL (16) will find this much easier than a recent Listed attempt.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Bon Vader.
5 02:25 SACRED ELIXIR QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1350m
Genuine tempo with Phere The Warrego and Steventown up front. MACEDON MISSION (5) wasn't disgraced in G3 company last time out and will find this assignment much more to his liking. Must be included in calculations. PHERE THE WARREGO (7) looked good saluting at Toowoomba first-up before not being too far away at Listed level last start. Top-three credentials. ALTO LUNA (6) went down by the narrowest of margins over this track and trip at the latest effort and looks to be building up to a maiden victory. Drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley and should give a sight at odds. SAXON SPIRIT (9) broke the maiden status here last start and will have derived a bunch of confidence from that victory. Solid top-three prospects. STEVENTOWN (8) best of the rest.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Macedon Mission.
6 03:05 GORDON'S GIN Class 3 Handicap 1100m
Nepravda and Zavega can be prominent. SMART SHAZZA (9) has a handy record here at this circuit with a win and a placing from three attempts and will strip fitter second-up from the break. Should get a cosy run in transit from the inside marble and looks the one they all have to run down. NEPRAVDA (5) hails from the astute Heathcote yard and will strip fitter second-up from the break. Rodd stays on top and looms as the main danger. WINCHMAN (1) is two from two over this distance range and rarely puts in a poor one. Can run a big race while fresh. ZAVEGA (14) gets a run now and is a last-start winner who shouldn't be discounted lightly.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning towards Smart Shazza.
7 03:40 RAY WHITE IPSWICH INCENTIVE SPRINT SERIES HEAT Class 1 Handicap 1100m
A hot tempo is expected with plenty of speed engaged. STRIKE WEAPON (3) has a solid record over this trip with a win and a second from two attempts and is drawn to be able to sit up on speed from the inside alley. Will be rock-hard fit for this and gets Maloney on board. Sure to give backers a sight. SPIRIT OF BARTY (10) is yet to miss a drum in three career outings and looks to have plenty of upside. Strikes a contest that has been crippled by scratchings and has to be included in calculations. JADA ROSE (11) showed a bit winning here on debut and Lloyd retains the ride. Can go back-to-back to start the career. BAKED (8) best of the rest out of the Gollan camp.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Strike Weapon.
8 04:15 SEVEN QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 2180m
Moderate pace with Norty Forty rolling to the lead and setting the tempo. OPTIONS (1) has been plying his trade in much harder Group and Listed races and should find this assignment a touch easier. Gets some well-needed weight relief with the 1.5kg claim and will be ready to peak now third-up from the break. Capable of sharp improvement. TOBY'S TRUSTY (8) is one from one at this circuit and maps nicely for this from gate two. Good enough to play a major role in the outcome. NORTY FORTY (10) got a confidence-building win last time out and is ready for the step-up in trip now. Top-three aspirations. CHILLIES (2) drops back heavily in trip but should be hitting the line with gusto. SIMPLY GOLD (12) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be slept on.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Quinella 1,8,10.
