Ladbrokes Mega Multi Maiden Plate 1000m
Good early pressure anticipated with a large representation of first starters. Plenty of first starters but a bit to work with from the raced brigade. SHAHAR (10) has raced twice and not far from the winner in two far richer contests. Trialling well for return and will find this easier. Expected to go close on the figures posted to date. ZUBBA STORM (5) is close to a win, having placed all three career runs so far. Has early pace to camp just off the lead and expected to go close again. TIJOLA (4) had one start over the winter and after getting back to the tail in the big field made good ground to finish fifth. Given a long spell and gelded since. Fitter for recent hit-outs and can return with a big run. ELLSWORTH (2) also in the mix from a low draw. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Shahar. |

Genuine tempo from Anglesea leading Rock Glory. Plenty of win chances but hard to go past ONAVUITTON (4). Close-up sixth on debut at Sandown then placed in the Group 2 VRC Sires at Flemington before a good spell. Returns a gelding and jumping out well. Would have to go close on anything like the last figure. SWEETEST MEMORIES (8) raced just once last campaign and also showed ability. Hit the line hard and was edged out in a photo before almost 11 months off. Looks hard to hold out if on song. TOPMOST (2) resumed from a five-month break with an eye-catching run and is overdue for a win. Fitter again and expected to feature. GREAT FUEGO (6) has raced four times to date and both runs on top of the ground have been strong. Looks a leading player on best figures. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stick with Onavuitton. |

Springvale RSL Maiden Plate 1400m
Expecting plenty of speed from Good Onya Champ, Black Coal and Ballistic Blue from Cuttin' Class. VALEDICTORIAN (9) is a locally trained galloper who has placed five of last six so suffice to say he is overdue. First try at 1400m but hard fit and draw for a soft run. Gets chance. AURORA RISE (11) made her debut in August and after getting back stormed home to finish fourth over 1300m. Returns on the back of two jump-outs and looks hard to beat over the extra ground fresh. CUTTIN' CLASS (6) found on way better on debut with a distant second then was a close-up fifth latest. Also looks suited by the 1400m now and rates a leading player. BLACK COAL (2) resumed from a long break of soft ground and was fair but will strip far fitter for this. Can improve sharply. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with the local Valedictorian. |

Hygain Edge Fillies & Mares Handicap 1000m
Genuine tempo from Montjuic Magic leading Torvega. Small field but looks to be a fair bit of pressure at the front. GLIDING LIGHTENING (5) ran on hard to score maiden two back then tackled much tougher grade last time and ran last but less than three lengths from the winner at Caulfield. This is far more suitable and will be winding up strongly. BELLA CINQUE (1) has the big weight for her return offset by the big claim. Goes very well fresh and placed only try course and distance. TORVEGA (6) was disappointing last time but returns home and only try here at this trip tried to lead throughout and just missed. Low drawn and can give a sight. MONTJUIC MAGIC (4) was well fancied fresh-up at Stony Creek and led throughout for a dominant maiden win. Placed only try course and distance, has the inside and small field suits. Take catching again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Gliding Lightening can atone. |

A solid tempo on the cards with Highlands heading them off. JUSTDOIT (5) returned from a break with a close-up fourth over 1200m and looks well placed here. Drops in weight, course and distance winner and extra trip a plus. Looks hard to hold out here at home. STAY SILENT (3) returns from a break in easier company and best figures stack right up. Has won fresh and is another returning home. Expected to go close this class fresh. HIGHLANDS (1) is fitter for two runs back and put the writing on the wall latest when runner-up here beaten a neck. Can roll forward and should go close again. BONS TO RICHES (2) was a fresh-up winner when charging home to score then was a close-up fourth latest at Mornington. Has a good record here at home and should enjoy the extra ground now. ILLUMINANCE (4) raced on speed last time in higher grade and is long overdue for a win. Will give a bold sight. SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Justdoit. |

A race that lacks early pressure on paper. Wide open race with many coming off excuses. ATAEGINA (5) is one such galloper who will find this far easier than the city class race last start when beaten five lengths. Best form stacks up and in this far easier grade can quickly atone. MASTERFUL (3) hasn't been far away at last couple. Goes well here on home track and aided by the claim. Drawn for a soft run on the inside and gets chance to find some form. QUEEN BEIRA (7) has been thereabouts in two runs back but worth noting is a third-up winner. Drawn well and should be ready to fire. GABLE (9) is an interesting runner who is mixing distances, racing over 1400m two back then back to 1000m last time. Has some decent form in tougher company last time in at about a mile and was tested in stakes class. Jumps back up in trip but worth including. BANCORY BAY (2) wasn't far away last start and should be very competitive. SUGGESTED PLAY: Giving Ataegina another chance. |

A lack of early speed leaves it open for Northwood Vamoose to run them along. OLNEY (10) is fitter for two runs in and put the writing on the wall latest when just missed over 1800m. Fitter and extra trip a plus. Only run here at home at this trip was unplaced but ran fifth in much richer company. Will roll forward and expected to take beating tonight. FIERY DEAL (11) hasn't been far away recently and is at top. Tricky gate but has upside and worth following up. CLINGER (3) was safely held fresh but then improved out of sight when up to 1500m. First try at this trip but drops in weight and will give a sight on speed. VERIFIER (7) has race dover 2100m at last two and both in richer company. Looks ideally placed this level and won't get a better chance to find some form. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Olney. |
