ENTAIN/NZB INSURANCE PEARL SERIES 1150m
Last Hello should find the front with Forseti and Taimate Warrior on her heels. FORSETI (2) was game in defeat at Reefton 3 days ago, and has the draw to take them all the way here. STEEZY (5) finished second as a hot favourite at Kurow 11 days ago, and will secure the run of the race from the pole position. Follow your money. Can win. SHESASCORCHER (4) needed her last run at Ashburton when finishing fifth as the favourite. She is knocking on the door and can take this out. RAPAURA (7) finished third at Omoto 6 days ago, and should not be too bothered dropping back 350m on the quick turnaround. Stick with her. OUR SALLYANN (3) is new to the circuit, and the Pitman/Comignaghi combo is running hot. She will be ready to rumble fresh up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Forseti each way value. |

JOAN MEATES MEMORIAL 1150m
Teemoo and Modette can be prominent. TEEMOO (5) is a stablemate of the top pick who was also third at Reefton on Wednesday. He is peaking at the right time and is the main threat. Each way. GOOD CRAIC (6) may never win a race, but was a bold runner-up at Ashburton last time out. She has a good gate, and only needs to settle handy to the pace to be an each-way chance again. RED MOON RISING (1) will be peaking third up, and is worth including in all combinations. RECITAL (11) did not fire at Riccarton just over 8 weeks ago. She cops a wide gate, but on her earlier form, she is not out of this. Include in all combinations. SUGGESTED PLAY: Teemoo each way. |

PHOENIX MINERALS 1150m
Good pace from Magnastar, Illicit Dreams and On Song. ILLICIT DREAMS (1) was less than a length from the winner when runner-up at Reefton 3 days ago. She has not won for some time, but is as tough as old boots, and can get the job done this time. EXPRESS COUP (2) is resuming from a spell for a stable that is running hot. She has been placed on this course in the past, and if ready, she can take this out. CANDLE (3) ran on late for a strong second at Omoto 6 days ago. She strips fitter, and if the rains come, she can go one better. MOTIONTIME (4) was a fast finishing winner at Omoto when third up from a spell. She holds her form when fit and can repeat the dose. SUGGESTED PLAY: Illicit Dreams can break her win drought. |

MCMULLAN ITM 1150m
Miss Harley Quinn should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep her honest. DRACARYS (9) capped off some strong form with a hard-fought win by almost a length at Kurow 11 days ago. Tina Comignaghi sticks with her, and so do we. EL VAQUERO (5) was last seen 5 weeks ago at Trentham, and he is a big threat at this level. Each way value. CHICAGO DREAM (6) is heading the right way with his form and will have no problem with a 6-day backup. A wide gate is no help, but he is still an each-way hope. RUSSIAN ROSETTE (4) ran the race of an improver for third at Omoto 6 days ago, and even from a wide gate, she can figure in the finish again. GROVE STREET (14) was a handy Reefton winner 3 days ago, and he is tough enough to cope with the quick backup, and win again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dracarys is the one to beat. |

HYND PIPES SYSTEMS/GREYMOUTH STAR 1810m
Keen tempo with Blueridge and Malevo prominent.
LITTLE THIEF (2) did not take long to win a race from the Kevin Myers stable, and he will be backing up 3 days from his maiden victory by 3 lengths at Reefton on Wednesday. On top again. RUBIROSA (6) is a stablemate of the top pick, who was third as a hat favourite 3 days ago over 1400m. The extra 410m is ideal, and he will be hard to hold out. AYE YOU (1) has never finished in the top 3, but has run some big fourths in his career. He cops a wide gate, but benefits from a 3kg claim, and can't be left out. THE BOSS GIRLS (7) is still a bit on the weak side of things, but her third at Reefton on Wednesday was good. Stick with her for all top 4 combos. MALEVO (5) will eventually make it, and his last start, fourth at Reefton 3 days ago was good enough to put him into multiples here as well. SUGGESTED PLAY: Little Thief can win again. |

SCENIC HOTEL GROUP 1810m
O'riordan, Pure Jewel and Leinster can set up a solid gallop. O'RIORDAN (4) was a beaten favourite at Kurow 11 days ago after racing close to the pace throughout. She can take up another handy spot here, and she is overdue for her next win. On top for us in this. LEINSTER (2) tries a middle distance for the first time, which is a query, but he was a game third as the favourite on Wednesday at Reefton, and has to be respected again. ADIOS VAMONOS (5) followed up her maiden win at Ashburton with a fair run for fifth at Reefton. She will be sharper 3 days later, and is well worth including in all combinations. HAMMER TIME (10) did not fire fresh up at Omoto 6 days ago, but usually improves quickly with racing. The blinkers are on, so stick with him. FLAMBOYANCE (9) will be peaking third up in the South Island. He steps up to a more suitable trip and has each-way claims, especially from the pole position. SUGGESTED PLAY: O'riordan can win this. |

BIRCHFIELD ROSS MINING/RECREATION HOTEL 1810m
Despite the wide draw Living In Hope should cross and set a genuine tempo. PINKER (1) paid good money when winning fresh up in his first run from the Kevin Myers stable, and he then just peaked on his effort at Omoto 6 days ago. He will be spot on over a more suitable middle distance, and with Tina Comignaghi to offset the wide gate, he will be hard to hold out again. LIVING IN HOPE (8) ran a much better race when second at Kurow 11 days ago, when beaten by just a nose. She should go close to winning this. MISS SETH (6) has been looking for more ground, and she gets a good chance in this to figure in the top 3. Each way value. SPEED DIAL (4) has finished second in her last couple of starts behind some impressive winners. She can go one better here. KAISEDA (17) was much better 3 days ago when finishing fourth at Reefton over 1400m. The extra 410m is the key, and she has some value each-way claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Pinker is on top here. |

VERNON & VAZEY 0800 TRUCK PARTS KUMARA GOLD NUGGETS 1810m
Reasonable tempo with Shaking Stevens probably leading but a few others should keep him honest.
BOZO (1) followed up her NZ Cup win over 2 miles with an impressive win at Omoto 6 days ago over 1500m. She is in career-best form and can complete the hat-trick, even with an extra 3kg to carry. SUNSET BOULEVARD (2) is a very progressive gelding who made it 3 wins on the bounce when scoring a tough win at Omoto 6 days ago over 2000m. He has to carry his full 60kg, but will still run another big race. SHAKING STEVENS (3) burst through a gap to win the Timaru Cup last time out and was an easy Cromwell winner before that. He has flourished since relocating to the South Island, and he is a winning threat again. OCEAN LIGHT (4) needed his last run at Kurow 11 days ago, and steps up to a more suitable trip here. His stable is on fire, and he would not be a shock winner. IFFIDIDIT (5) has not run a bad race this season, and he is up to any in this on his best day. He drops to a dangerous place at the weights, and should be right in the finish again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Bozo is the one to beat. |

SPEIGHTS/SUPER LIQUOR 1810m
Just a moderate tempo headed by The Diviner, Richie's Dream and Vague. TEXAS (7) loomed along the inside and peaked late at Reefton 3 days ago. He will be better for that run, and he is good enough to win this. Follow your money. SHEAF (9) left her run too late at Reefton 3 days ago, and will be hoping to settle a touch closer this time. She is another with winning claims. Stick with her. THE DIVINER (4) will be chasing a hat-trick after leading all the way to score at Kurow over 1400m. He steps up in trip for the first time, and around this circuit, he will take some pegging back again. RICHIE'S DREAM (8) has yet to fire in 2 starts over the holiday period, but can hold her spot early on from the pole position, and is not the worst for top 4 combos. SUGGESTED PLAY: Texas can win this. |
