CHARLES DICKENS STAKES 1000m
CHAMPAGNE CASTLE (10) is a promising type racing well, including an all the way win last time and scoring with a bit in hand. Looks the one to run down again. SWEET GREEN (2) raced on speed on debut and just missed. Improver who can get off the mark this time. CATWALK KING (5) wasn't far away on debut then raced handy last time and lifted strongly to score. Has upside and sure to go well. WORLD SERIES (12) is facing the starter for the first time. By One World and comes from the Vaughan Marshall stable. Watch the market closely. |

DRAKENSTEIN STUD B STAKES 1200m
PINK PIGEON (10) is a consistent filly long overdue for a win. Leading rider goes aboard. Can go on with the job now. SHESGOTCLASS (1) placed at first two from a spell then led throughout to score last time in this class. Big chance to go back-to-back. WILD APPLAUSE (11) was narrowly beaten at only run last time in. Goes very well here and expecting a bold showing. JORDASH (5) wasn't far away in Grade 2 company at only run last time in. Could prove too smart for these fresh. |

FRANSCHHOEK MOTOR MUSEUM CLASS 4 1200m
SPIRIT (1) missed the placings two starts back then ran a better race and finished 1.5 lengths away in fourth last time out over 1200m at this track. Finds a nice race and gets chance for an overdue win. MAURITIUS KESTREL (3) did a great job to score by half a length over this course and distance last start in a much improved run. Likely to be there at the finish again. AZZURRI (9) has put together back-to-back placings, the latest when half a length away in second over 1200m at this track when he was prominent throughout. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. LOVING PRAGUE (12) turned in a fine effort to win by 3 lengths at today's course and distance last time out to build on a solid first-up effort. Looks well placed so expect another big run. |

CARTIER SCEPTRE STAKES 1200m
Fantastic content with loads of talent lining up. QUICKSTEPGAL (10) has been freshened since winning the Grade 1 Cape Filled Guineas over a mile. Classy type who did win only try this shorter trip and expected to go close. GREEN DIAMOND (12) was safely held fresh but is a Grade 2 winner and did score at only other try second-up. MON PETIT CHERIE (1) was thereabouts last time in tougher company and freshened since. Has a great record this shorter trip and expected to perform well. MIA MOO (2) came from a long way back to score fresh. Grade 1 winner at this trip and looks hard to hold out again. |

ANTHONIJ RUPERT PREMIER TROPHY 1800m
Looks a great chance for REGULATION (2)to bring up a winning hat-trick. Has won last two finishing on hard and has won 2/3 this course and distance. Excels this circuit and expected to go close again. NATIVE RULER (1) wasn't far away in Grade 2 company latest and fitter again for the longer trip. Has been competitive at the top level and looks a strong winning hope. MAJOR MASTER (10) went close last time behind Regulation but meets him slightly worse at weights. At top now though and looks a leading player again. OKAVANGO (7) was Grade 1 placed three back and does go well here. Among the main contenders. |

CARTIER PADDOCK STAKES 1800m
Hard to go past the class mare DOUBLE GRAND SLAM (5). Dual Grade 1 winner including this race last year over Red Palace. Was too strong fresh and excels second-up. Great record here and looks the one to beat again. REET PETITE (1)is an exciting filly thrown in the deep at latest when just missed in the Grade 1 Cape Fillies Guineas. Has upside and looks a top chance again. RAINBOW LORIKEET (4) has been sound in both runs this time in and looks ready to find best. Loves the course and distance and should be right in the finish. RED PALACE (10) was well off best last time. Runner-up in this last year and always competitive this level. Worth another chance. |

WORLD POOL CAPE FLYING CHAMPIONSHIP 1000m
Impossible to go past the exciting sprint BUFFALO STORM CODY (13). Top sprinter unbeaten in three runs this time in. Won the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint six months ago before a break and remains undefeated since. Looks the one to beat again. TENANGO (1) was runner-up in the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint three back behind Buffalo Storm Cody. Thats good form for this and fitter for two runs in. Unbeaten third-up. Expected to go very well. ASIYE PHAMBILI (5) was a fresh up winner in Grade 3 company and can only be fitter. Strong second-up recording excels here. Improver with winning prospects. CONSTELLATION (10) is a promising colt in great form and all at this trip. First try in stakes class and first try here but can give a sight. |

JAN VAN GOYEN (2) looks the one to beat again. Exciting colt unbeaten in Grade 1 company including the Cape Guineas last time. Looks the measuring stick. EIGHT ON EIGHTEEN (7) has a top record at Grade 1 level and yet to miss the frame in eight tries here including four wins. Go close. SEE IT AGAIN (10) stormed home to just miss fresh in Grade 2 company and more than competitive this level including two wins. Among the leading chances and can turn the tables on DAVE THE KING (1), who beat him narrowly in the Green Point Stakes last time. Already a three-time winner at the top level. Goes very well here and will take catching. |

CAPE OF GOOD HOPE CHAIRMAN'S CUP 2500m
They all had their chance to beat HOLDING THUMBS (4) who carried the big weight last time but couldn't. Building a superb record this course and distance and drops in weight from the last start win here. The one to beat again. AHEAD OF THE FACTS (8) was runner-up behind him and is worse off at the weights but does have some upside and also a good record course and distance. Definite danger again. TRIPLE TIME (5) ran third in the same race and does meet the top two slightly better off. Has be be included again. MASTER OF PARIS (7) has placed only try course and distance. Last-start winner who can measure up again. |

ORIENTAL CHARM B STAKES 1400m
VOORLOOPERTJIE (4) performed above expectations last time over 1500m at this track, getting the prize by 0.8 lengths. Rates highly on latest effort and drawn for a soft run off speed again. Can go on with it. TOUCHED BY ANGELS (13) scored last start at this track to make it two wins and two placings from four starts this campaign. Sure to measure up again. DELTA PRIDE (16) has been racing in great heart including a last start third over 1400m at this track, beaten 2.5 lengths. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. BEWARE (1) was midfield in the Grade 1 Cape Guineas last time behind Jan Van Goyen who races earlier in the card. Was a winner the start prior and wouldn't shock to see him bounce straight back in this far easier company. |
