THE NOWRA JEWELLER CLASS 2 SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1600m
Lack of early speed means Line Of Fire could find the lead. ELIVINA (5) made a nice return at Kembla Grange, then stepped up in grade over 1400m at Randwick Kensington and did about what was expected. Fitter and stepping up to a mile is well-placed to turn things around. DEVINE OUTCAST (6) also presents third-up and rates similarly. Improved his numbers at Hawkesbury in stronger and Ryan is reunited, replacing the apprentice. LINE OF FIRE (2) resumed at Newcastle in a 64 and finished close than expected. At his best this trip, Collett replaces the apprentice. QUEEN OF DEELS (3) peaks for an elite metro barn and got close at Canberra last time in a 70 over this trip. Needs to find more, but should be around the mark. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Elivina. |

NOWRA FRESH SHOWCASE COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200m
Entirely Oak to go to the lead at a genuine tempo. THIS AIN'T TEXAS (11) presents third up for Matt Dale and should be set to improve. She went back to the 1000m journey last start at the Sapphire Coast and just found them too speedy after a promising debut here. Back out in trip is a big tick and she can put her best foot forward. SMOLENSKI (5) is also third up and is showing enough to consider. Has a soft gate and will get every chance. BELLEISTIC BONNY (6) debuts for Canberra's premier stable and has trialled at home. Collett is a positive jockey booking and keep a close eye on the betting with her. BRASS MONKEYS (7) will use an inside barrier and can build on his solid debut at Canberra. SUGGESTED PLAY: This Ain't Texas gets the nod. |

G J GARDNER HOMES COUNTRY BOOSTED SHOWCASE BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1400m
Pace strong with Robran and Tillman leading with Ken'ker nearby. BREAKAWAY WEEK (5) won impressively first-up and has held that form since, stepping out to the mile last start at the Sapphire Coast. May have found that a bridge too far and back to this trip today is perfect with her good mate Teaghan Martin on board. Needs some luck from the draw but her best form stacks up. TILLMAN (8) has had one blip in a string of placings. He's well into the preparation, but is going well enough to get some of the money. KEN'KER (3) has been racing over a mile and hasn't been finishing off. He can go better today, and Collett is a positive jockey engagement. FIRE AND GEMSTONE (4) wont be far away in a race that looks to have a rather long tail. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Breakaway Week. |

HANLON WINDOWS BELLE OF THE SOUTH- F&M BENCHMARK 66 SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1200m
Nothing to run them along so the pace looks even at best. DEEP EMOTION (8) looks ready to fire third-up. Her two runs back in town have set her up nicely for this, and his CL1 near miss at Goulburn prior to the spell reads well. Maps for a soft run and if she handles the quick turnaround, she'll take beating. PRETTY SASSY (5) has trialled twice since her 1.8L defeat in a 62 at Kembla Grange, 50-days ago. Draws inside and can't be ruled out. ABSTRUSE (9) and LETHAL LADY (2) are both Canberra-trained and have pieces of form that would see them competitive. The latter jumps from the paint and has a handy 2kg claim. MAZ KANATA (3) wasn't far away at Goulburn three back and has been very competitive on the provincial circuit recently. Back to country grade today and she rates highly. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Deep Emotion. |

TGS2GO TRAFFIC CONTROL MAIDEN SHOWCASE PLATE 1400m
Anticipating Militant to be prominent but one or more of the first starters should add to the early pressure. LAMBERTINA (9) had been well educated before winning comfortably at Gosford on debut. He again raced forward at Canterbury following that but lacked a kick at the business end. He will be better for that outing and is suited in country grade. Collett's booking suggests she's pleasing. VALIANT DREAMER (12) is also Sydney-trained and presents on debut. She just missed in a recent Warwick Farm trial and the in-form Boudvillain takes the ride. This looks suitable and she can feature with average luck from an awkward gate. MILITANT (2) was well supported at Newcastle on debut but didn't finish it off after stalking the lead. The longer sprint suits, and she has the blinkers applied for the first time. Improvement is likely, and she goes into the mix on an each-way basis. FAN SEA DIVA (7) can fire a shot on debut. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Lambertina. |

HOTONDO HOMES SOUTH COAST SHOWCASE SUPER MAIDEN PLATE 1100m
Anticipating a genuine tempo over the 1100m journey. CENTURY SONG (2) resumed with a narrow defeat as favourite at Kembla Grange and then was plainer finding a distant placing at Warwick Farm. Presents fitter again and is much better suited. Is still well shy of his best and gets his chance to break through. TOP SPEED (5) is an improver in the Maher stable. He went close at Canberra on debut and is sure to build on that. MOON JEWEL (9) resumed as favourite at Doomben two months ago and disappointed. Has been switched south by the Michael Freedman stable and has trialled well enough at Canterbury. Maps for a soft run and quick improvement is likely. FIREPOP (8) has impressed in to Sydney trials coming into this and can play a leading role. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Century Song. |

COUNTRY MOTOR COMPANY ***BIG DANCE ELIGIBILITY*** NOWRA SHOWCASE CUP 1600m
Good pace expected with Jamberoo, Master Riley and Affermato paving the way. A showcase over a mile. PEACE OFFICER (7) has been threatening a win in stronger races and is well-placed on a 7-day backup. Brock Ryan is aboard today, and he can win with average luck in running. ROLLING MAGIC (6) is third-up and brings narrow defeats from Rosehill and the Kensington at 72 level. Is back after 9 days and has weight relief at this level. Steps up to the mile and is a live chance. JAMBEROO (2) arrives here third-up and should be ready to find more like his best. Comes back in grade and has the early speed to clear the awkward gate. Has been kept on the fresh side and is well in the mix. LOUIE'S LEGACY (10) is hard to catch but can get some of the money if he puts his best foot forward. Tumbles in weight and that can see him competitive. GOOD PRIZE (5) is also Canberra-trained and will be around the mark with the extra fitness. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Peace Officer. |

BOMADERRY BOWLING CLUB CLASS 1 SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1000m
Good pace with Tango On, Rainbow Glow and Sea Admiral prominent. SEA ADMIRAL (1) resumes for the Thompson yard and is the danger. Won a Kembla Maiden two back fresh and has prepared for this with an easy trial win at Kembla Grange. Will be naturally improved and goes close. LIGHTLY SPARKLED (7) resumes and would be a hope if presented forward this time around. She went close at Kembla Grange this grade two starts back and the market should guide to her readiness. BATTLE WARRIOR (12) is well-bred and spiked his figures winning a Maiden here comfortably. Looked good early doors and looks to have turned the corner. He can stalk the speed from a handy barrier. TANGO ON (8) is not out of this based on his last start win at Orange. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sea Admiral gets the nod. |
