PRD NORTHERN RIVERS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1900m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Born To Be Alive leading the way. BRAVE DEEL (2) recorded a win and a minor placing over 2200m at Grafton before failing at Toowoomba last start. Drops in grade and looks well in after the claim. Can make amends. FORCE ME (9) led all the way in a BM58 over this distance at Kilcoy two back then struggled on the all-weather track at the Gold Coast last time. Big chance back in this more suitable contest. DURUSEHVAR (8) mixes her form. Best recent effort was three back in this grade at Port Macquarie when beaten a length. One for the exotics. BORN TO BE ALIVE (7) can surprise coming off a two-month break. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Brave Deel. |

BROWN & HURLEY KYOGLE MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
Anticipating good pressure with many of these at the races for the first time. RAINBOW LASS (8) recorded her third minor placing from the past four outings when she charged home late but just missed over this distance at Ballina last start. Can settle closer from the inside draw and looks ready to win. First starter CASINO COLLECTION (5) won a Port Macquarie trial by six lengths on 19 April. Five of the six siblings to race are winners and she looks to have her share of ability as well. CLUSTER'S GENERAL (2) has had plenty of chances. In the mix based on his last try over this distance, beaten under a length at Port Macquarie two starts ago. BOBBY IS KING (1) resumes. Will be better for the run but can get home late into the placings without surprising. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Rainbow Lass but wary of those first starters with strong trial form. |

RICHMOND VALLEY MEATS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1000m
Solid tempo likely from Mawsons Expedition and Speedy Target. HARE STREET (8) finally broke the maiden last start, working home well to just prevail over this distance at Ballina. Has always showed ability and can go on with the job now. MAWSONS EXPEDITION (2) returned from a seven-month spell with a dogged all-the way win for new trainer Samantha McGuren over today's journey at Tuncurry recently. Lightly raced four-year-old with plenty of scope for further improvement. EXPOSITION (1) has been struggling of late over longer trips in better company. Is a winner at 1000m and could surprise despite a crushing weight. VELVET (12) led and gave cheek at massive odds on the Gold Coast poly last time. Capable of a repeat performance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Hare Street. |

WESTLAWN FINANCE MAIDEN PLATE 1400m
Beauty Eight and Majestic Thunder will settle forward and can set a moderate tempo.
BEAUTY EIGHT (1) has raced on the speed and filled a minor placing at his two runs this prep, both over shorter journeys on the Gold Coast poly. Looks perfectly placed out to 1400m on a seven-day back-up. Clear top pick. LABARNA (4) last raced six weeks ago when a respectable third over the mile at Grafton. Has had plenty of chances but while fresh he can play a role in this shallow maiden. FLEE WITH ME (12) returned from a spell with a moderate effort after missing the kick over 1200m at Tuncurry recently. Can improve with that run under the belt over an extra furlong. JED (3) is still a maiden after twenty-one runs but should be competitive here based on his good fourth over this distance at Grafton last time. TOWERS HILL (9) is on trial at this trip but can sneak into the top four at the second run back. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Beauty Eight. |

CHARCOAL INN & BOTTLESHOP BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400m
There should be a bit of pressure with The Coat Hanger and Soozie Maree pressing forward in advance of Lampkin Lane and Insinuate.
INSINUATE (4) has transferred from Waller to Matthew Dunn following a couple of unplaced efforts in Brisbane of late. Lightly raced filly who won her maiden in good style over 1550m at Murwillumbah three back. In the right race to bounce back to form. LAMPKIN LANE (8) was narrowly defeated in consecutive outings at Grafton before failing over 1812m at Port Macquarie last start. Better placed this time so watch for a return to form. CASEBOLT (7) started this prep well but was a bit flat over 1200m at Tuncurry most recently. Might be looking for this distance now so she can make amends. OCTAVIO (3) improved sharply to take out a BM58 over 1300m at Ballina last start. Placed three from four at this trip so at the third run back he makes plenty of appeal. OUR SPARKY (5) is racing well and should be in the finish despite a six-week lay-off. SUGGESTED PLAY: Insinuate to win. |

THANK YOU RACING NSW BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400m
Good tempo expected with Dupont, Aima Sun and Is Sweet rolling forward. AIMA SUN (5) was eight weeks between runs when midfield in open company over 1300m at Rockhampton last start. Strips fitter and this is a big class drop. Sure to give a good account. GOLDEN BREEZE (12) has been his own worst enemy of late, missing the kick regularly and setting unlikely tasks. Has ability and if he jumps cleanly from the inside stall can certainly win this. HARDLEY GREY (1) won two back at Grafton then wasn't far away at the same track over this trip in a BM66 recently. Races well here and in this much weaker race he is a live chance despite the big weight. IS SWEET (8) was back in form at Dalby last time. Should go well again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Happy to be with Aima Sun. |

CASINO RSM CLUB BEEF WEEK CUP FRI 30 MAY BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200m
Expecting Beat Hollow to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. CHILLING (5) returned from a spell in a similar race to this at Port Macquarie last start where he did well to finish just 1.2 lengths off the winner after racing handy. Not a noted first-up performer so that was a positive sign. Looks hard to beat with the senior rider going on. RISK ASSESSMENT (10) appreciated the drop in grade when a close second over 1270m at Taree last time out. Only needs to hold that form to be competitive again. MONTE TIANA (6) returns from a short spell. Opened last prep with a placing in maiden company over this trip then progressed nicely through the campaign. Should be ready to run well. COSMIC FORTUNE (7) went back in trip and improved out of sight last start in a 1000m BM58 at Ballina. Likely to be thereabouts again in this softer race from an ideal draw. SUGGESTED PLAY: Chilling to win. |

BRETT HARLEY BUILDING KYOGLE CUP BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200m
Divine Rendezvous to go to the lead at a genuine tempo.
DAZZLING ROBERT (5) missed the kick then worked home impressively to finish a close third last start over 1300m at Ballina. Needs to jump cleanly over this shorter trip but if he behaves this is well within his reach. VETOED (6) returns from a ten-week break and protects a 100% top three record when fresh from a spell. Beaten a whisker when resuming last prep over this trip at Grafton. Major contender. NEOCLASSICISM (1) is back for a sixth campaign. Regularly in the placings but rarely wins. Good fresh performer racing over his pet trip so he looks a sound each-way proposition. EMPRESS OF MILAN (10) resumes after a four-month break. Needs more ground but from the inside gate might sneak into the money while fresh. DIVINE RENDEZVOUS (12) is back in her right grade today and can figure in the finish. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen to be with Dazzling Robert. |
