MIDWAY BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP 1500m
Slick pace with Direct Fire finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. JUMEIRAH BEACH (10) sent north where he ploughed through the rain affected going along the inside for a well-deserved victory over 1615m at Doomben in BM70 class. Gets a similar setup here and can win again with the claim. Looks great value. STARBOARD (11) improving gelding set to peak fourth up. Strong through the line when fourth over 1400m at Randwick in this grade. Looking for the trip and stays in the mix. MISS HADES (5) encouraging return with the 58.5kg when a solid sixth over 1200m at Warwick Farm. Has a handy second up record and drops further in weight over his preferred trip. NORTHERN EYES (2) undefeated at this track and the extra trip is in his favour with the winkers being added. The chances don't end there. SUGGESTED PLAY: Jumeirah Beach each-way. |

TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP 1500m
A solid tempo on the cards with Kotaishi heading them off. STRAIGHT FIRE (8) handy mare with solid figures second up and on rain-affected going. Sat on the fast tempo with the claim when a gritty third over 1300m at Canberra first up. Raced well in this company in the past and ticks plenty of boxes here. CRAFT (4) up in trip when leading throughout for a slick victory over 1600m at Queanbeyan in easier company. Gets the right set up again and he looks up to this. Great each way value. MIDNIGHT AFFAIR (11) snagged back from the wide draw before chipping away late when ninth over 1400m at Randwick in this class. Gets a better run today and is capable of taking this out. CANADIAN RULER (1) scored a tenacious win at latest with the 60.5kg over the 1400m at Canberra. Hard fit and not to be underestimated. SUGGESTED PLAY: Straight Fire each-way. |

ST JOHNS PARK BOWLING CLUB 2YO CLARENDON STAKES 1400m
Expecting Aerodrome to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. AERODROME (1) heavily supported on debut from the wide gate when a determined winner over 1200m at Warwick Farm in good style. Will hold a forward position again and should be even stronger out to the 1400m. ONE STEP CLOSER (10) was well in commission on debut with a close-up fourth over 1400m at Kembla Grange. Should have come on further with that run and expected to get through the conditions. Value player. DAMIEN (2) went one better at his first run back when sitting on the fast tempo for a dominant maiden win over 1200m at Newcastle. Looks to have further upside and can measure up again. WENTWORTH FALLS (7) finally drawn a low barrier at his third career start. Taken back from the wide draw and closed off smartly when an unlucky third over 1400m at Kembla Grange. Set to peak and looks great value. FORTISSIMO (3) impressed in both runs on the country tracks and gets in light with Nock's 2kg claim. Handles the going and will be attacking the line late. SUGGESTED PLAY: Aerodrome to take stopping. |

CLARENDON TAVERN BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP 1100m
Solid tempo with several going forward headed by Spanish Fox. ONE DESTINY (7) dictated the tempo early and pulled out plenty late with a tenacious victory over this trip at Warwick Farm. No reason he can't repeat the performance here with Bourke's claim. WORLD ALLIANCE (4) was shuffled back from the inside draw and failed to get into the contest when eighth over 1200m at Kembla Grange in BM94 class. Fitted with a recent 740m trial and expected to return to form. This is very much his sort of race and he has the record around this circuit. IRON MAN (3) solid return when held up over the closing stages to finish fifth over 1200m at Randwick. Back in class and relishes the rain-affected going. SPANISH FOX (1) has Iron Man's scalp in the book and his string of wins makes him something to respect as he returns from a break. SUGGESTED PLAY: One Destiny to take holding out. |

BLAKES MARINE BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP 1800m
Genuine pace with Jamberoo taking up the running ahead of Black Run and Who Ordered Dafish. BLACK RUN (5) lightly raced imported gelding with a stack of upside. Sound Australian debut when running on late from a lengthy break to finish fourth over 1600m at Warwick Farm. Drops further in weight and has the pace to get across from the draw. Undefeated in two second-up runs. JAMBEROO (2) resumed with a gritty on pace second carrying the 58kg over 1600m at Warwick Farm. Wadick sticks with the 2kg claim and proven at this trip and in these conditions. FAY'S ANGELS (7) has a good record at this trip and strips fitter with just 53kg to carry. Can surprise at the big odds. The chances don't end there. BEHTAR (1) ran a much improved race second up and has a hope if following that trajectory into this. SUGGESTED PLAY: Black Run to go close in a tight contest. |

ELITE SAND & SOIL HAWKESBURY GUINEAS 1400m
Solid pace with Candlewick showing out while Media World will also work across from an outside gate. CANDLEWICK (13) exciting filly facing her stiffest test. Continued where she left off last prep with a gritty on pace victory over 1200m at Warwick Farm in a BM72. Bred to handle the conditions and drops in weight from a good gate. Goes close. ZEITUNG (5) raced without luck all prep and comes here in peak condition. Can sit a little closer from the inside gate and undefeated on a heavy track. No excuses here. GETAFIX (8) underrated gelding who deserves his chance in this contest. Total forgive from the wide gate on resumption when thirteenth against the older horses over 1200m at Randwick. Comes to hand quickly and assess on his strong Caulfield win last October over this trip and in these conditions. Value player. JUST PARTY (4) gelded over the break and proven at this level. Taken back from the gate and offered little when eighth in the G2 Hobartville over 1400m at Rosehill last February. Fitted with two solid trials and primed for this. MODELLA (14) nice filly with a ton of upside. SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 13,5,8,4. |

PIONEER SERVICES HAWKESBURY CROWN 1300m
Not expecting them to go too hard with a lack of pace evident. LADY LAGUNA (2) indicated she was back to her best when gripping on strongly second up with the 58kg to run third over 1200m in the G2 Sapphire Stakes at Randwick. Gets map favours again out to her preferred trip and adept in all conditions. WRITTEN IN CODE (11) progressive mare who deserves her shot in Group company after winning three straight in Benchmark class. Returned slick figures when smashing her rivals over this track and trip last start. Value prospect who can test her more fancied rivals. CITY OF LIGHTS (12) attacked the line strongly off a five-month break when an unlucky second over 1200m at Randwick in a BM88. Loves the rain-affected going and no reason she can't figure prominently again. TASHI (10) consistent mare at her top now and not to be underestimated. SUGGESTED PLAY: Lady Laguna to peak third up. |

RICHMOND CLUB HAWKESBURY GOLD CUP *BIG DANCE ELIGIBILITY* 1600m
Good tempo anticipated with Matcha Latte and Punch Lane leading the way. PUNCH LANE (5) undefeated on the heavy tracks and backs-up quickly after giving them a galloping lesson over 1500m at Randwick in BM100 class last Saturday. Rawiller sticks and will take catching again out to the mile. MIGHTY ULYSSES (3) raced in much tougher company last prep and like the way he closed off with the 60kg when fifth to Sandpaper over 1400m at Randwick first up. His good second up record can see him take this out. MATCHA LATTE (12) chasing his third straight win this prep and jumps many grades for this. Proven at the trip and adept in all conditions. Sure to be thereabouts. TAVI TIME (9) heavily supported on resumption when a narrow second to Sandpaper over 1400m at Randwick. Will be closing off strongly from the draw. SUGGESTED PLAY: Punch Lane to take stopping again. |

HAWKESBURY XXXX GOLD RUSH 1100m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Fire Star leading the way. CELUI (14) proven at this level and has been rejuvenated since going to the Richard & Will Freedman yard this prep. Returned good figures at his second run back when gripping on late for a narrow third over 1200m at Randwick. Drops sharply in weight and gets every chance from the good gate. Hard to stop. DRAGONSTONE (1) classy sprinter with his hoof on the till. Meets a weaker field after surging late when fifth to Mazu in the G3 Hall Mark over 1200m at Randwick. Drawn out again and his best form is over this trip. FIRE STAR (9) underrated sprinter with a good winning record. Boxed on well on resumption when fifth over 1100m at Canterbury. Nice drop in the weights and adept in all conditions. Goes close. KIN (10) resumes. She is reliable and has ratings at the right level. SUGGESTED PLAY: Celui to win. |

THE LAWN SHED BENCHMARK 88 HANDICAP 1400m
Expecting Cool Jakey to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. COOL JAKEY (3) tough on pace gelding having his third start within the month. Back in grade and his best performances are on rain-affected tracks. Solid top three contender. GALLANT STAR (7) smart Dubbo-trained gelding who gave his all with the 59kg when fourth over 1400m at Randwick in the Country Championship. Form has since been franked and gets some nice weight relief with Roper's claim. Capable of playing a leading role. The O'Shea and Charlton trained CAPTAIN AMELIA (15) is second up and should be an improver. MOBY DICK (10) is the other that can improve. Too far back last time but should be in touch around here and has the talent. SUGGESTED PLAY: Map looks a big plus for Cool Jakey. |
