WORLD SPORTS BETTING DASH 400m
NO FILTER (9) is better than her last start run would suggest. She would have come on from that outing and should strip much fitter. Her best form has come under S'manga Khumalo. The blinkers will sharpen her up and if getting away on terms, she should be winning. THE ABDICATOR (8) is having his first run for the Mike and Mathew de Kock stable. He has shown speed in his last two races over 1000m. Kabelo Matsunyane rides and he has winning claims. HOLDS THE KEY (2) is a 2yo taking on older horses. He returns from a spell and is having his first run as a gelding. The blinkers should sharpen him up. The son of What A Winter has shown speed in his races and would not be a shock winner. DONQUERARI (6) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1100m at Scottsville. This doesn't look as hard so he is set to turn things around. |

THE INDEPENDENT ON SATURDAY PERSONAL FINANCE MAIDEN JUVENILE PLATE 1200m
INTENSITY (2) is the only runner who has raceday experience on his side. He ran a fair race on debut over 1000m at Scottsville last start. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He would have gained from the experience and should make the natural improvement. FLAG CHAMP (5) is an unraced son of Canford Cliffs from the Gareth van Zyl stable with S'manga Khumalo in the saddle. If not in need of this run he should start his career on a positive note. FREEDOM FIGHTER (1) is a son of Vercingetorix from the Glen Kotzen stable with Chad Little inthe saddle. From pole position, he should get a good run in transit. Each-way claims. WORLD OF ROYALTY (6) is a two-year-old colt by One World out of Queen Of Alamo set to debut for the N Kotzen stable. Looks set for a bright start. Watch for positive late market leads. |

RADISSON BLU HOTEL, DURBAN UMHLANGA MAIDEN JUVENILE PLATE 1200m
DARK MATTER (2) ran an encouraging race on debut over 1000m at Scottsville, against male company. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She would have come on from the run and she should like the rise to 1200m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to side with. DELAWARE RIVER (6) hails from the visiting Stuart Pettigrew stable. She has shown signs of needing her first two starts. Likely improver with the extra trip expected to suit. ROYAL KAILANI (1) was in need of her debut over this distance at Scottsville. The daughter of Querari would have come on from the run and she should have improvement to come. LOVE THE USA (8) is on debut. By The United States and comes from the G Van Zyl (Jnr) stable. Expected to go a bold race. |

THE INDEPENDENT ON SATURDAY INSIDER EAST COAST CUP 2000m
MOCHA BLEND (7) has been an impressive winner of her last two starts. Despite racing wide around the turn over 1800m last time, she quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. She returns from a spell which may have done her the world of good. Gavin Lerena retains the ride and if fit, she can bring up the hat- trick. HAT'S QUEEN (2) ran a good race when fourth last time. She has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. She jumps from a good draw of two and is one of the leading contenders. GOODNESSGRACIOUSME (4) stayed on well when third of seven over 1800m last time. If not in need of this resuming run should be fighting out the finish. TOMYRIS (11) ran on from last when winning last time. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners once again. |

INDEPENDENT ON SATURDAY DRILL HALL STAKES 1400m
ROYAL AUSSIE (3) stayed on well at the finish when fifth last time. He won this race last year and with Andrew Fortune in the saddle, he can defend his title. MONTIEN (8) tried hard when third last time. He has finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this distance. He is likely to race from just off the speed and should produce an encouraging return to the races. THE REAL PRINCE (11) was an easy winner last time. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from his wide draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners. GREAT PLAINS (4) resumed from a spell and was in the money last start when third at Kenilworth over 1400m. Fitter and has each-way claims. |

WORLD SPORTS BETTING FILLIES GUINEAS 1600m
SPUMANTE DOLCE (11) ran a good race when second last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She is a filly with plenty of class and with luck in the running can return to winning form. MON PETIT CHERIE (2) was running on when third in the last time. She jumps from a good draw of two which is a big plus. If suited to this course, she should throw out a big challenge to the top selection. GIVE ME EVERYTHING (14) is a winner of her last four starts, the latest of which was over this course and distance. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners. OXALIS GOLD (7) was an easy winner last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She is in a good space and can't be discounted. |

WORLD SPORTS BETTING GUINEAS 1600m
EIGHT ON EIGHTEEN (5) returns from a spell. The son of Lancaster Bomber is ideally at his best over further ground but he is loaded with class. If taking to this course, he should take a power of beating. FIRE ATTACK (4) fought hard for his last victory. He finished second in his only attempt over this distance. The son of Fire Away merits healthy respect. COSMIC SPEED (3) has good recent form lines to his credit. He ran on from last when second last time. He has won on this course previously and must be included in exotic bets. SAIL THE SEAS (1) resumes from a spell today after placing second last start. Muzi Yeni rides from pole position and the son of Vercingetorix can finish in the placings. |

THE INDEPENDENT ON SATURDAY DURBAN THEN AND NOW PROGRESS PLATE 1200m
RODEO DRIVE (2) stayed on well when fourth last time. She finished second in her only attempt over this course and distance. She is the best-weighted runner in this race and she may be the one to beat. KHETHIWE'S DESTINY (12) ran a good race when fourth in her last start over this course and distance. She would have come on from the run. The widest draw is the obvious concern, but with luck in the running can win. BASKED IN GLORY (4) just lasted when winning her last start over 1000m on the Turffontein inside course. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and if switching off early, she should be figuring in the finish. LOCK AND KEY (11) showed signs of needing her comeback run over 1400m at Kenilworth. She won on debut over this distance. She will strip a much fitter horse and with luck in the running she would not be a shock winner. |

THE INDEPENDENT ON SATURDAY SPORTS CLASS 4 1400m
EL DANTE (6) had to overcome a wide draw when fourth over 1200m last time. His penultimate run when 2 lengths behind the winner over 1000m, catches the eye. He is having his peak run and has a handy draw of six. It is encouraging that Muzi Yeni retains the ride and the combination can go close. MOYA WA LALIGA (12) was an easy winner of his last start over 1200m on this course. The slight concern is that he is yet to win over this distance. However, he is in a good space and cannot be ignored. WORLD OF OUR OWN (8) was running on when fourth over 1800m on this course last time. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this course and distance. With a bit of luck in the running should be involved in the finish. TOBACCONIST (2) showed signs of needing his comeback run over this distance at Scottsville. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Jockey Sean Veale rides and he has each-way claims. |
