MISTER SIGNS MAIDEN 1100m
Not much early pressure but I Had A Dream, Gem's Man and Classic Code can take up forward spots. I HAD A DREAM (1) has been trying to win a race for some time and was runner-up here 8 days ago over 1200m. He has a superior draw this time and can break through for an overdue win. CLASSIC CODE (6) was third fresh up at Esperance and then needed her last start here 15 days ago. With less time between runs, she can bounce straight back into the money. GEM'S MAN (2) is another long-time maiden who is resuming from a spell. It is hard to get a line on him, but this field is not strong, and any market confidence could be worth following. FIFTY WORDS (3) did not run a bad race fresh up here just over 2 weeks ago when finishing fourth. He strips fitter and is another who is worth including in all combinations. SUGGESTED PLAY: I Had A Dream each-way. |

D&R PLUMBING & GAS SERVICES MAIDEN 1612m
Fly Away Flirt and Queen Of Chaos will press forward in a keen battle for the lead. QUEEN OF CHAOS (4) finished a solid fourth here 8 days ago and was less than a length from the winner. She has been trying to win a race for some time and should cope with a mile better than most in this field. Each way claims. SWEET EYES (8) has been steadily improving with racing and was not far away in fifth place at Albany nearly 2 weeks ago. She benefits from a 1.5kg claim, and her trainer, Adam Durrant, seldom treks to this course without taking home some of the main prize money. Stick with her. DE ZANE GREY (1) did not fire here fresh up, but can improve second up, and in this sort of field, he could be one to bolster any combinations at a price. WITCHY WOODS (3) will find this company more to his liking and a form reversal is on the cards. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sweet Eyes each-way. |

CHALLENGE DRILLING HANDICAP 1300m
Strong tempo with So Likable and Chad's Me Dad leading the way over Playthatfunkymusic. PLAYTHATFUNKYMUSIC (1) loves it here and is heading the right way with his form. He kicked hard when finishing runner-up here 8 days ago and is nicely poised to go one better with an extra furlong to travel here. On top. CATEGORY THREE (3) ended her last prep with a nose win at Belmont at the end of winter. She is resuming with a new trainer and has a good record fresh up. She has not been over-taxed with racing for a 6-year-old mare and can give this a shake. KICK A GOAL SON (2) needed his first run back from a spell, and he normally improves quickly with racing. He has a handy draw and should finish a lot closer this time. SO LIKABLE (7) has posted 6 of her 7 career wins on this track and bounced back into winning form when leading all the way here last time out. She is up in class, but drops 4kg in weight, and can repeat the dose. SUGGESTED PLAY: Playthatfunkymusic to win. |

BMGS HANDICAP 1100m
Expecting American Thighs to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. THATSTHEWAYILIKEIT (7) caught the eye with a bold finish for third here fresh up just over 2 weeks ago, finishing only a length behind the winner. She stays at the same trip but looks to have plenty of upside, and her next win is not far away. On top at what could be some each-way value. DUBLIN RED (2) is a stablemate of the top pick and gives top local trainer Peter Fernie a strong hand in the race. He will be peaking third up from a spell, and with the advantage of the pole position, he can take this out. AMERICAN THIGHS (4) rounds up the Peter Fernie trio and is not the least of his winning chances, after she was runner-up here last time out. She has not missed a cheque in a couple of starts third up in the past, and she also has winning claims. FLOBA (1) is a handy gelding resuming from a spell. He normally takes a run to get ready but is good enough to grab a slice of the first 4 if he is even three-quarters ready. SUGGESTED PLAY: Thatsthewayilikeit each-way. |

REGAL ENGINEERING BRONTE STEWART MEMORIAL HANDICAP 1612m
Reasonable tempo with Beau Talk probably leading but a few others should keep him honest. BEAU TALK (1) has been below his best in his last couple of starts at Ascot after finishing second at Pinjarra before that. He will find this company more to his liking and from a handy gate, with the aid of a 1.5kg claim, a form reversal is on the cards. ON JUST TERMS (6) followed up an encouraging second fresh up on this track when resuming from a spell with a comfortable all the way win here just over 2 weeks ago. She is showing promise and could be hard to peg back again. BANG FOR BUCK (2) built his form strongly and took a deserved maiden win here by a neck when starting as an odds-on favourite. The winkers go on, and she could even repeat the dose. THE CANDY KID (8) can do better. Include in all combinations. SUGGESTED PLAY: Beau Talk to win. |

RACING WA PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP HEAT 1200m
Plenty of pace with Science Degree and Sure Thing leading from Blitzem Babe. NATURAL GEM (3) made a winning track debut in her penultimate start and then doubled the dose by scoring even more easily last time out. Rocky Cheung keeps the ride and will take 3kg of her back. She is again nicely placed and can complete the hat-trick. TREBLE MAKER (7) finished second fresh up at Pinjarra-Scarpside and then was too good here 8 days ago, scoring by over a length, despite racing keenly in the running. She drops 6.5kg in weight, which makes her among the hardest to beat again. SCIENCE DEGREE (4) showed her preference for her home track when scoring fresh up by nearly a length, when leading all the way. He will be looking to attempt similar front-running tactics from his good draw, and another win immediately is not beyond him. SURE THING (1) posted a hat-trick of wins at Esperance before finishing fourth at Ascot 6 weeks ago. He is nicely placed back at this level and is capable of a top 3 finish. SUGGESTED PLAY: Natural Gem to win. |

TERRA DRILLING HANDICAP 1400m
Reasonable tempo with Zebedee Springs probably leading but a few others should keep her honest. ZEBEDEE SPRINGS (6) is a consistent gelding who posted his first win on his home track here just over a fortnight ago, courtesy of a good ride from 3kg claiming apprentice Ava Catarino, who again takes 3kg off her back. She has the pole position and can repeat the dose. PRIZED JEWEL (5) fought on well enough when finishing third here last time out and had won a similar race to this before that. She is in a good space, and another honest effort is expected. RULING DAME (8) ran on too late when finishing third as an odds-on favourite here 8 days ago. She has an extra 100m to travel this time and can have the last say. ONEMOREFORLEO (2) failed to fire fresh up and usually takes another run before hitting his straps. He has a good record over the trip here and will have the aid of a 2kg claim to reduce his weight. With the right run, he can figure in the finish. Include in all multiples to be safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Prized Jewel each-way. |
