NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:45 WAGGA RSL CLUB SHOWCASE SUPER MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
The Nephilim should lead at a slick tempo. ME ME (12) impressed when resuming with a fast-finishing second over this trip at Kembla Grange. Has come back in excellent order, and with natural improvement second-up, she looks ready to break through. Expect her to settle off the pace again and launch late. HELL OF A FOX (9) jumped out of the ground late last start at Canberra, only to miss by a lip in his stable debut for the red-hot Luke Pepper yard. Has proven versatile with her speed and is sure to take another strong account. KURRAJONG (2) resumes and gets the blinkers on first time. Keeping safe. THE NEPHILIM (5) can improve into a placing here.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Me Me the one to beat.
2 01:20 TOYOTA FORKLIFTS CLASS 3 SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1000m
Plenty of pace with Sparklenglitter and Xspiritous leading from Siovy Dane. SPARKLENGLITTER (6) couldn’t have been more impressive in her first two starts. Never looked in danger last time out at Nowra and is clearly a filly on the rise/. Possesses natural pace and a sharp turn of foot to match. From a favourable draw, she's the one to beat again. XSPIRITOUS (7) has been knocking on the door and was game in defeat last time when a close second at Goulburn. Drawn well and can apply some pressure to the fav. HURRICANE THUNDER (4) resumes from a spell and often runs well fresh. Keep an eye for him late if the leaders overdo it early. NEVER FAILS (2) chased gamely to just miss here two starts ago. Not as effective last start in town but can get things back on track. CASSIMIR (8) was much better last start at Leeton. This is tougher, but he warrants respect.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Sparklenglitter to win again.
3 01:55 GALLAGHER INSURANCE BROKERS CLASS 1 SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1200m
Hot tempo expected from Sheridan Street and Boom In The Dark. SHERIDAN STREET (12) made a perfect start to his career, leading throughout to score on debut at Gundagai. He was well supported in betting and showed professionalism beyond his experience. Improvement to come and she too should be offsetting the wide alley early. PAPARAZZO (5) broke through at start three when first-up at Benalla. Lightly raced and still on the up. Booking of Schiller adds confidence. MISS EMMA (3) put the writing on the wall last start at Canberra when beaten 0.8L. Gets her chance on the quick back-up. SANTASIA (1) continues to race well, recording consecutive placings. She’s honest and has the early speed to be in the firing line again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Sheridan Street each-way.
4 02:30 JRC ELECTRICAL SERVICES MTC GUINEAS - 3YO BENCHMARK 74 HANDICAP 1600m
Fear No Evil and Jato to take up the running at a strong tempo. DUPLI KATE (2) was strong through the line last start when scoring over this track and trip, showing she’s capable of rounding off her races with purpose. Should relish stepping out to a mile and will be suited by the anticipated tempo. Will be tearing them down late. Waterhouse & Bott gelding FEAR NO EVIL (1) brings strong form and is sure to give another bold sight. Found a couple smarter ones last start but don't suspect this is as tough. Will take some catching. Fellow speedster JATO (3) impressed with a commanding win at Albury. Strips fitter and is trending the right way, just hoping she doesn't overdo it early. DUE CALZINI (7) hasn't been able to break through this campaign but has been closing off nicely over shorter trips. Likely to drift back again from the wide alley but will relish stepping out the mile and should be nearing peak fitness. Can play a role. COSMIC COCO (6) will be happy to see them burn along early. Can cause a late scare if close enough.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Dupli Kate gets the nod.
5 03:05 BYRNE TRAILERS QUEEN OF THE SOUTH - F&M BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP 1400m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Controversial Miss leading the way. SOUTHERN FIRE (4) returned in slick fashion with a dominant fresh win over 1175m at Albury, putting her rivals away with authority. That performance suggested she’s come back in excellent order, and with natural progression second-up, she’s a major player once again. BON HOLLER (9) is enjoying a fruitful debut prep and was a commanding winner here last start, cruising to a soft victory under McDougall who sticks. With confidence high, she's sure to give another bold account. PROPHET'S DAUGHTER (2) improved sharply last time when placed at Albury and appears to be nearing her peak. She rises in class but can take another step forward. SNOWY (10) consistent type who has had two runs back from a spell. Rates a hope.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Southern Fire.
6 03:40 WALSH & BLAIR COUNTRY MAGIC BENCHMARK 74 HANDICAP 1200m
Hot tempo expected from Epaullo Creed and Ferrari Man. SO YOU PENCE (15) couldn’t have been more impressive last start, demolishing the field by 6L at Goulburn in a dominant on-pace display. Confidence sky-high and fitness peaking. Suspect she's a class (or two) above this lot. SOUL LADY (7) is a promising mare resuming over a preferred trip for Joe Cleary. Has her share of ability and is a noted fresh performer. Suspect she will be wound up for this but will need a smart steer from the wide draw. DOLLY (13) has proven an ultra-consistent type of the Spackman yard. Doesn't do much winning but rarely turns in a poor one. Deserves plenty of respect. CHASING A QUID (8) comes off a confidence-boosting win at Gundagai and gets weight off. Drawn favourably and can make an impact. KEIKOKU (5) will be the one to look out for if they pour it on early in front. Don’t leave him out of exotics. Stablemate CYCLONE RUPERT (9) is on the up and is another worth including.  SUGGESTED PLAY: So You Pence the one to beat.
7 04:20 WAGGA RSL CLUB WAGGA WAGGA GOLD CUP 2000m
Off the inside draw Bear On The Loose should bounce straight to the lead and set a solid tempo. MEDATSU (10) caught the eye with a strong closing effort in the LR Albury Gold Cup last time out, finishing fifth after settling near the tail. He’s crying out for a genuine tempo and more luck in transit. Ready now. BEAR ON THE LOOSE (8) resumed in fine order when beaten a lip over the mile at Hawkesbury. Fitter now and carries a feather on his back. Will bounce straight to the front from the inside pillar and take plenty of running down. MATUSALEM (2) enjoyed a change of tactics last start when sent forward and was tough enough to fend off his rivals and land the Albury Gold Cup. Draws well with winning hoop in Jones sticking. Sure to take another strong account. HELLUVA SOIREE (16) is a fit mare in form. She can run a cheeky race at huge odds.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Medatsu gets the nod at an each-way quote. Wary of Bear On The Loose leading all the way.
8 05:00 000 PLUMBING SERVICES AUSTRALIA BENCHMARK 58 SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1300m
Off the low draw Teetotal is likely to find the lead at a slick tempo. SALUTE AGAIN (1) has returned in solid form this campaign, finishing in the placings in both starts, including a strong third last time out at Randwick over 1400m where he worked home nicely from midfield. With added fitness and a race that looks to suit tempo-wise, he appears poised to go one better and notch a well-deserved win. YAM (8) is two runs into his preparation and while his results have been modest so far, he’s shown glimpses. A more genuine tempo and step up in distance could bring out his best. RELEASE THE BRAKES (14) gave backers a sight from the front at Kerang and held on gamely for third. The booking of McDougall from the inside pillar reads favourably. Must take seriously. TEETOTAL (5) has a stack of early speed and strips rock-hard fit. Will give plenty of cheek.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Salute Again to win.
