Bruce Almighty has good early speed and can negate the outside draw. Exciting prospect OPPORTUNISTIC (9) lands here fresh after getting tongues wagging in his debut preparation. His recent trial was sound at Lark Hill and the wide draw is no issue with his usual racing pattern. Easy to think he has improvement to come and he can keep his unbeaten streak alive. Interestingly, CJP opts to ride FIRST ENCOUNTER (13) following a dominant trial win at Lark Hill recently. He's right down in the weights today and has always shown good promise, winning a bm66+ over 2000m last time out. May be short of his best trip, but his recent trial suggests he can run well first-up. CAPTAIN PLUTO (1) is known to fire first-up, having never missed the placings on resumption. The claim of Cooper is a big tick as he's nicely placed at the weights following the claim. Ticks a few boxes and is not to be discounted. FAST FLICKER (4) looks well placed back to this track and trip and can play a major role. SIMPLY (10) has claims from an inside barrier first-up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Opportunistic on resumption.
