LAND SUR (11) returns from a layoff of five-and-a-half months. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last prep over 1500m at Kanazawa. Has switched to the Hiroaki Sakurai stable. Strong chance to kick the campaign off on the right note. MISATO LEONESSA (10) ran below expectations last time at this track, finishing seventh starting at $5. Best efforts give her a live chance. QUEEN'S MONAKA (3) is struggling to break through but has been around the mark lately, last start finishing second over 1200m at this track. Can measure up here.
