Strong early tempo with Ropewalker and Xerxes leading the way. BALMIERRO (1) went oh-so-close at Gunnedah last time when chasing strongly to just miss. Built nicely into this and is drawn to settle handy fourth-up. Ready to strike. XERXES (6) finally landed the winning blow last start when breaking through in dominant fashion at Gunnedah. Confidence high and his form this prep has been rock solid. No reason he can't go right on with the job now. REDALUCA GIRL (11) is knocking on the door after another solid minor placing. Finishing off her races with real purpose and gets conditions to suit. Genuine contender and worth following. CITY GOLD READY (2) hasn’t won for a while but finds a suitable race and his best figures stack up. Could surprise. ROPEWALKER (9) finds the maiden win elusive but has enough pace to put himself on speed to give himself a chance. Keeping safe in exotics. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Balmierro.
