Genuine tempo with the Samarkand likely to pave the way. ILLUMINOUS (5) is racing in top order this time in work and now gets McDonald in the saddle from an inside barrier. It wouldn't surprise to see him sit a touch closer this time and his ratings are right there suggesting he's not far away from a win. Can get the job done today. ROCKET SPADE (7) will get back in the run but gets Hugh Bowman back in the irons. While he hasn't won his past couple. He's been running really well and he may be beginning to get back to his best. Likes this track and trip and can get back to winning ways. CHAIN OF GOLD (4) is trending nicely this time in work, just missing out over this course and distance last start as favourite. Draws out today, but Purton remains in the saddle and he can go one better without surprising. SHARPEN BRIGHT (9) held on to win narrowly here last time out and can make his own luck from up on the speed. Has the be included.
