Looks to be plenty of pace with Margot Solare and Red Variato battling for the lead. AARON'S ROD (4) is back from a spell of eight months. Closed last prep as a winner, taking out a 2400m contest at this track by 1.3 lengths. Promising type expected to measure up again. SUNRISE GUTS (3) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a nice race when fresh from a spell last time out, finishing second and beaten only a neck over 2200m at Chukyo. Sole career wins was when second-up. TIMUR (8) resumes in a similar race to his last run four-and-a-half months ago when fourth, beaten 1.1 lengths. Has the ability but a long time since a win. Worth plenty of thought. RED VARIATO (5) went to the paddock after scoring at his last appearance three months ago over 2600m at Hakodate. One to consider.
