Solid tempo with Elamaz, Lindermann and Bois D'argent going hard, closely attended by Palmetto.
LIGHT INFANTRY MAN (1) has bumped into Via Sistina and Fangirl in his two runs this prep, pipe-openers only over shorter trips. Returned a career-high performance to win the Australian Cup with authority at this stage last prep, albeit off a better second-up run. Has the class to beat this field. KOVALICA (5) has been frustrating for punters but his second-up effort last time out behind Fangirl had merit. Gets to his right trip and the blinkers go on today in a sign of intent from the Waller camp. LINDERMANN (2) has been outstanding at his last couple of appearances, holding out the new star Sir Delius two back then failing by an eyelash to Fangirl over the Randwick mile last time. Will look the winner at some stage. KINGSWOOD (10) returned from a long break with a fine second at Flemington four weeks ago. Yet to prove himself at this level but is a stayer of promise. ATTRITION (6) chased a couple of star mares around Moonee Valley a fortnight ago. Always a threat at this level. SUGGESTED PLAY: Light Infantry Man each-way.
