Pushalot, Sapphires Son and Liquor Talk all possess good speed. MERCHANT REIGN (4) made it two wins from three runs this prep when he stormed home to just arrive in time over this distance at Canberra last start. Tackling a better field today but gets some weight relief. Sure to prove tough to beat again. LIQUOR TALK (8) returned from a short break with a tidy win over 1300m at Goulburn last time out. Only goes up one kilo today so from a nice gate expect him to hold that form. AIRLINER (10) hasn't won for around three years. Freshened up since a poor effort over 2010m here seven weeks ago. Capable of a sharp effort while fresh. KING TAURUS (1) will find this easier than his last start sixth over 1100m at Goulburn. Perfectly drawn and not too badly treated after Cole's claim. VEREEVA (7) has raced well all prep, including a fast finishing fourth over 1010m most recently. Major player out to this more suitable journey. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Merchant Reign and Liquor Talk.
