A solid tempo on the cards with Balastier taking charge. MERCURIAL LADY (14) could well be the best horse in the race, resuming from a spell here. She won by seven lengths at $1.45 to break her maiden first up last time in before two very credible runs in 3yo open company at Caulfield, placing in both. She's speedy and if they're positive from out wide she may well prove too strong. SUN SETTING (10) is a consistent mare who won well at 1000m two back, just missing as favourite last time at Flemington. No issue to 1200m, she'll take plenty of beating again. BALASTIER (11) has won both starts this time in at the provincials, doing it easily both times. He's got good gate speed and draws to use it. Can measure up strongly. ENNA'S DREAM (9) is going well this time in and should be hitting the line late. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mercurial Lady to win.
