Looks a decent tempo with Turn The Ace, Spencer and Chajaba leading the charge. SPENCER (1) was back to his best when scoring over 1200m at Trentham. He has won his only start on this track and will have no trouble stretching out to 1400m for this suitable assignment. He only has to carry an extra kilo, and can double the dose. THE SCUNNER (10) kicked off his campaign in style, winning by well over 4 lengths on this track and over the trip. He is usually just as sharp second up, and with his position down in the weights, he can win again. ARCHAIC SMILE (11) settled towards the rear last time out and made late ground to finish fourth over 1200m at Te Rapa when fresh nearly 4 weeks ago. She will relish the extra furlong and would not be a shock winner. BOURBON EMPRESS (8) resumes from a spell, after a couple of fair runs at Ellerslie earlier in the year. She won her latest trial, and with 53kg to carry, she can make her presence felt. Check the market moves. ELECTRON (6) did not fire at G2 level before having a spell. She is a quality mare who won't be far away. SUGGESTED PLAY: Spencer can win again, but this field is very strong.
