MATAKANA PERKYNANA (10) was an overdue but deserved maiden winner over 1200m at Wingatui last start 4 weeks ago, scoring by 2 lengths. Now that the penny has dropped, she has the scope to go right on with the job. On top. THE COOL ONE (1) took out a maiden over 1200m at Wingatui last start, winning by nearly a length. She cops a much tougher draw this time, but has the breeding that suggests he will be better with more racing. Each way value. GANGSTA GRANNY (6) is knocking on the door, narrowly beaten by a head into second over 1335m at Gore last start over 1335m. The wetter the better for this mare, and with conditions to suit, she can figure in the top 3 again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Matakana Perkynana each-way.
