Big Swoop and Venus King to stride forward and take up the running. VENUS KING (1) was very good at Ascot two back before a big defeat in Listed company at Ascot most recently. This is a big drop in grade and he was tracking nicely prior to that effort. The 2200m won't be an issue, he maps to get every chance and a return to his best will see him hard to beat. OCEAN RANGER (5) ran on strongly over this trip at Ascot 21 days ago and Watson remains in the saddle. He's likely to be back in the run once again which is a niggle, but he rates highly on recent performances and he can put his best foot forward. ZERA BLUE (8) made it back-to-back wins with a 0.3L over 1900m at Narrogin just 10 days ago. She drops in weight off that effort and the rise in distance doesn't look an issue. Can be in the finish once again. MERCIAN HYMN (6) steps right up in trip today but that doesn't look an issue. Can be around the mark. KEGGS LATER (7) is in good order and has claims off a strong effort last time out. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Venus King in the last.
