DOCTOR CAPTAIN (3) ran a better race last start to finish a close third over 1600m at this track after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Enjoys a drop in grade so he is a major player. VOLCANO GRIT (1) finished out of the money two starts back then he was never in contention and was beaten 15 lengths when tenth in a 1800m contest at this track two-and-a-half weeks ago. The engagement of Alan Munro is a positive move. Likely improver with strong prospects. GREAT ONE (11) hasn't been able to break through for an extended period, the latest effort a sixth over 1800m at this track. Placed to advantage so expect a better run this time. GASOK JEIL (2) has not won for a long while. Last raced on March 14 when beaten 7 lengths into fourth at this track over 1800m. Best figures measure up nicely. Should be about the money.
